About this listing
We're in the heart of The Village, the best neighborhood for tourism with tons of restaurants, bars, cafes, and close to all subway lines :)
... on the 4th floor of a quirky, 100 year old, typical New York low rise building, with no elevator.
Our apartment is a quiet, charming, centrally located place to rest your feet after a long day of sight seeing. You'll love the lively neighborhood with it's many restaurants, cafés, bars and corner stores. And yes, Greenwich Village is better than SOHO, haha! :P Instead of clothing stores it has lots of restaurants, cafés, theatres, comedy and live music venues (like the Blue Note). It's also right next to Soho ^^
- our beds all have active response coil mattresses and memory foam pillow tops
- 2 pillows per person: 1 down, 1 memory foam
- 1 twin size down blanket per person
- fresh bed linens
- 2 towels per person
- bathroom basics (toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, shampoo)
- hair dryer
We provide regular and disposable dishes. If you don't feel like washing dishes on your vacation, you can just use the disposable ones :)
The kitchen is fully functional and has a stove, fridge and micro wave oven. There is also a table that seats 6.
Our apartment has one bathroom with a bathtub and shower head. It's well organized with individual mirror cabinets and toothbrush tumblers.
We live in a quirky 100 year old building above a restaurant and on the top floor. From our kitchen window you get a glimpse of the Empire State Building, but when you step onto the street you get a beautiful view of that iconic building, and in the opposite direction you can see the new World Trade Center.
4TH FLOOR - NO ELEVATOR
If you are planning to get into shape during your stay, this is the place for you … you will need to climb 4 flights of stairs to our apartment ^^
WE'RE NOT A HOTEL :)
Most New Yorkers live in a shoebox so small that guests have to sleep in the bathtub hahaha! (no joke) We used to receive guests through couch surfing before moving to New York and we're glad that we can continue to meet awesome people despite the high rent prices thanks to Airbnb. Although we're not always here, we love guests who are looking for a local experience. After all we're all part of a global community of travelers :)
Interaction with guests
We work a lot and sometimes late to finish projects. And sometimes we're out of town. But we love to welcome our guests in person, give you tips for restaurants and sight seeing. (For example: Don't go to the top of the Empire State Building, instead check out Top of the Rock, World One or rooftop bars like "230 5th")
If we have time we'll be happy to have coffee with you or take you to a restaurant :)
We try to keep our apartment as clean as possible!
1. NO STREET SHOES
We're germaphobes about the dirt on street shoes. Please leave all your street shoes in the shoe rack, and please never step inside the apartment wearing street shoes ... like EVER!!!! ^^
2. PLEASE SIT DOWN
To keep the bathroom cleaner we ask our guests to sit down when they use the toilet.

I am a big fan of hosting. It's fun to meet new people and I've made many friends.
I also love to travel and have picked up a couple of languages over the years. I speak German, Portuguese, very broken Spanish and a couple of words of French. There are many trips on my bucket list that I haven't yet been able to take, but until then I'm collecting friends from all around the world :)
I love cooking simple food with fresh ingredients or ordering from the Sushi restaurant down the block when I'm lazy ^^.
I work a lot and mostly from home as a freelancer.
I live with my boyfriend. We both work a lot and are often pretty busy.
