New ! 3 night stays available. An Tigh Beag is a detached , stunningly restored 100 year old quaint white washed cottage, sitting on the beautiful Applecross Peninsula. Elevated in its own magical grounds overlooking the sleepy bay of Loch Beag. Famous for incredible views , sunsets, dark starry skies and the Northern Lights. Perfectly situated for climbing, walking, cycling and fishing being so close to Torridon. Also fabulous for just relaxing in the cottage grounds watching the world go by

The space
A very warm welcome awaits you here at An Tigh Beag . Let us tell you what to expect within our stunning Highland holiday home which is detached and in private grounds. Our lounge is wonderfully bright, boasting a wood burning stove (1 bag of logs each night included) and original thick stone walls which impressively date back to over 100 years.
There's a vaulted ceiling too which gives the sense of space within. Luxury leather crofters chairs sit perfectly beside the stove, ready for you to sink into and relax, plus a small 2 seater leather sofa for additional seating should you prefer. The seating is complimented by Lucy Wagtails handmade Harris tweed cushions and lamps and we have added in some throws for snuggling into.
The very cool floor to ceiling narrow window allows you to sit and watch the views over the bay giving you the chance to experience the most incredible sunsets we are lucky enough to see here in the evenings.
The lounge is fitted with the usual modern gadgets expected in self catering including a 32 inch Smart TV / Sky / Netflix/ Alexa. We have popped in some games, books and activity material too , for your enjoyment.
Then there's the most gorgeous open plan kitchen/diner , enriched with a smoked glass dining table and chairs for you to enjoy drinks on and dine .From this room you will find lovely views towards the Minch and beyond in the daytime and by night the sky twinkles with stars.
Our kitchen is new and fully fitted for all your self catering needs with a little bit of sparkle thrown in too. You will find an induction hob/oven, integrated fridge freezer, integrated washer/dryer, air fryer, microwave, Tassimo pod machine (remember to bring the pods ). We also will leave a welcome pack for you as a thank you for choosing our cottage.
The main double bedroom is in true cottage style with a super comfy king size Hypnos bed complimented with luxury bedding so you will sleep well . We added in some Shaker style panelling just to complete the feel. Here you will wake up to green lush garden views , hopefully blue skies and the song thrush singing.
Our cute shower room has a rainfall shower which will drench you with water from the nearby burn. The shower cubicle is a super size - and we have installed shampoo/conditioner and bodywash wall dispensers for ease of use. The half wall mirror allows for self groom from all angles (or you can look away) , and the modern black fitments complete that fresh sleek look. A heated towel rail is awaiting to warm your fluffy white towels alongside porcelain floor tiles with underfloor heating which we hope adds a little lux to your stay . Some guests like us to supply dressing gowns so if this is one of your loves in life please just let us know when you book your stay.
Our cottage has an upper floor which is accessed by a little wooden staircase . The room on this floor can be used as an office or perhaps a 2nd lounge. It has the original lowered sloping roofline so its ideal for smaller people . We have fitted in a small double sofa bed and also equipped it with a desk, chair and printer should your work follow you here.
We have this amazing breakfasting porch which allows for long relaxed morning coffees whilst watching the rare birds feed and the sun rise. Its flooded with the South facing sun and incorporates a huge picture window which gives amazing views over the country cottage gardens and bay, where you will see the fishing boats working and our heron too alongside the seals, dolphins and otters playing.
Of course we have installed quality double glazing throughout and combined it with wifi operated electric heating to keep you cosy ( dont worry it can be operated manually too) . A choice of 2 private parking areas exclusively to you. Oh and before I forget you will find our raised vegetable beds in the garden - please do help yourself when in season (potatoes/carrots/lettuce) - there's nothing better than home grown food.
We have bike storage available too - so if needed please just let us know. You will also find a long patio in the back garden which is ideal for star gazing - just remember to bring your equipment. Its very cool as we have the most amazing dark skies here and if you are lucky enough to choose the right time to holiday , then this experience will be 5 star!
We hope you don't mind , we do have frequent visitors to our cottage, here are their names - pine marten, otter, seal, dolphin, white tailed eagle, buzzard, arctic tern, great skua, great crested grebe, cuckoo, wood pecker, oyster catcher, song thrush, house martin, swallow, robin, greenfinch, goldfinch , frog, toad, newt, butterfly, dragonfly , sheep and the postman.
We have strived to provide you with everything you need for a magical self catering holiday in the beautiful Applecross Peninsula. We wish you the most enjoyable time ever.......we know you will love it just as we do.
Point of interest - our cottage was featured on the channel 4 TV programme : Britains most beautiful road - episode 4 .

Guest access
You will have access to the whole cottage exclusively. Upstairs and downstairs. Access to the full 3rd of an acre of stunning mature garden grounds overlooking the bay. Its such a suntrap here and we have also managed to fit in a patio , firepit area as well as a star gazing platform in the upper part of the back garden for your extra enjoyment (remember to bring your equipment). Theres a good sized outdoor washing line for using in the better weather / dryer inside the cottage for those rainy days. We have 2 parking areas which are exclusive to our cottage.
The bay and shoreline can be accessed from the shingle area directly outside the cottage.

Other things to note
3 night minimum stay works well for our changeover pattern but its not set in stone. We are pretty relaxed and more than happy to liaise with you on what your specific dates are and see how we can help you.
The cottage does have a licence for 4 people. There are 2 bedrooms. Our preference is to let to 2 people only however if you do wish to have additional guests staying please just email us and see what we can do for you
