About this listing
We have just renovated a very sunny apartment in the city center. It has a separate entrance, a large living room (the fridge and kitchenette are hidden in a closet) with sofa and sofa bed, a bedroom with traces of Art Nouveau frescoes (the bed is slightly smaller than a standard double, it is Queen Size), a private bathroom with shower and washing machine. The apartment is provided with free wi fi connection, air conditioner, NOT TV.
The building dates back to the Middle Ages. As you can see in the photos, we wanted to keep some details although may perhaps appear "sloppy" to someone . The frescoes date back to before 1920, the wooden inlays of the windows are of considerable value, and we prefer scratched wooden "Venetian" shutters to current plastic ones.
As you can see from the map (photo 10), guests will have to their disposition an apartment with an entrance, a living room with kitchenette, a bedroom and a bathroom.
Interaction with guests
I am studying for a second PhD in medieval history, and I would be glad to show you the most interesting streets, monuments, churches and buildings. It depends on the time you have, but I would love to teach you typical (and easy) recipes of Ferrara: passatelle, or brazadela...
The neighborhood is FANTASTIC! There's absolutely ALL. The Public Library (with Renaissance Frescoes) is in front of the apartment. On the corner there is a very very good restaurant-pizzeria. On the corner after the Restaurant, a marvellous pastry shop. A supermarket, a newsstand, a flower shop, a tapas restaurant are just a minute walking. The Cathedral, the Castle are just few minutes walking distance.
The apartment is 6 minutes walking from the Corso Porta Reno stop of the buses n. 3 and 6 (beginning their routes at railway station).
Ferrara is really near to Venice, to Milan, to Rome, to Florence... You can use the apartment as a base and reach for a day other more busy and expensive italian cities.
Other things to note
- The apartment is on the second floor.
- There isn't a lift but a hoist; it works in a strange way (I 'call' you from up or down, then the hoist moves up or down).
In the apartment, you can find the basics for a light breakfast:
Instant coffee and real Italian coffee (normal and decaf)
Sugar and sweetener
Milk (in the fridge)
- If you have a bike, you can put it in the courtyard.
Check-in is available from 12,00 pm to 12,00 am
- Respect the neighbours
- Avoid noise after 23
- Do not damage the apartment and furnitures
- if not differently agreed, leave the apartment by 11,00 pm
- When you leave, please leave the keys in the lock; but if you like to say goodbye call me: I live one floor down.

Sono nata a Ferrara, la conosco abbastanza bene (perlomeno il centro!) e amo il suo mix di eleganza rinascimentale e sonnolenza di provincia. Mio marito e io lavoriamo in ambito umanistico: lui insegna all'università, io sto svolgendo il mio secondo dottorato. Abbiamo due bambini un po' tremendi e amiamo molto gli animali: abbiamo una gatta ex randagia e una cavia attempata.
