Handcrafted from traditional materials, our luxury retreat blends industrial style with a modern twist. The Salt Hut is the perfect destination for a romantic getaway, time with a close friend or a solo adventure. A five minute drive to the centre of Lymington or the picturesque New Forest, and ten minutes away from the coastal village of Milford on Sea. You can discover the local area on foot using the network of countryside footpaths, one leads down to a great local pub, The Mill.

The space
The Salt Hut is located at the end of our land, separate from our family home. With parking on our drive, you will approach the Hut via a private festoon lit walkway, leading to a tranquil garden with outdoor dining area, wood fired hot tub, sofa and fire bowl.

As you step inside the Salt Hut you will be surrounded by thoughtful design. In winter, hunker down and fire up the the log burner, in summer, throw open the stable door and let the outside poor in. Small by nature but big on style, sink into soft linen on the cosiest king sized bed, enjoy the luxury of our perfectly formed bathroom room, with handmade tiles, brass taps and reclaimed copper sink.

At the heart of the this beautiful hut, you will find a handcrafted kitchen and dining area, which comes full equipped with top of the range appliances. Enjoy a morning coffee while listening to the birds or snuggle down for the night with a romantic dinner for two. The Salt Hut Onion Loft comes with 4G unlimited internet, smart TV and a fun selection of books and board games to keep you entertained.

Step through the doors and descend the wooden step to the beautifully tranquil garden, enjoy a relaxing soak under the stars in your private wood fire hot tub, toast marshmallows on the fire or relax in the sheepskin clad Harmen Scandinavian chairs and enjoy a glass of wine with your book.

Please Note:

On arrival, we provide half a bag of complimentary logs for your stay. However, you will need to purchase additional logs for the hot tub and fire once these have been used. You can purchase logs/kindling and firefighters on site. The hot tub takes approximately two log bags to get up to temperature. Only seasoned hard wood logs can be used.

We run a small private member's gym, housed in our vintage WW2 Nissan Hut on our the drive. The gym runs for two hours per day, 8am-10am Monday to Friday and 9-10am on Sundays. At these times, private gym members will park on our drive whilst they have access to the gym.

Our family live on site in the main house, so please be aware you may hear children, chickens and goats.

We have two Airbnb accommodations on site: The Salt Hut (sleeps 1-2) and The Onion Loft (sleeps 1-4), our New Forest Scandi Retreat.

Guest access
Our family home and garden is home to free-range children and a selection of happy animals: including goats, chickens, dogs and rabbits. We are usually around for any help or to answer queries, but it would be helpful if guests could message or text first.
