The space

My house is located in between two towns. The first one, the nearest is Louisburgh Town. This is a 5 minute drive and has beautiful quaint traditional pubs. It has a fuel station, supermarket, a pharmacy and a post office. There are cafe's and a restaurant there also. The second town is Westport. This is a 15 minute drive away and has lots of shops, supermarkets, cafe's restaurants, bars. There are beautiful blue flag beaches all around the Louisburgh area. The nearest one to me is "Old head" beach which is a 3 minute drive away. The famous Croagh Patrick is a 7 minute drive away. The Wild Atlantic way passes the end of my road also, and takes in some breath taking sights. Louisburgh area is neighbouring with Leenane village and Clifden town which is part of Connemara. They are beautiful places to go for a day trip to. Ronagh Pier is 7 minute drive away and here you will get boats to the near by Islands, Clare Island and Innishturk Island. The boats run daily to and from these islands so day trips are possible. if you wish to cycle The Great Western Green Way. There is a cycle route. 42km in length and travels between Westport and Achill Island. It is called "The Great Western Way "This is very popular with visitors. Bikes are readily available in various location in Westport Town.

The neighbourhood

My house is situated in such a brilliant location that makes it so accessible to all of the beautiful surrounding I have mentioned above. Nowhere is to far to drive or cycle to.

Getting around

There is a bus daily which stops at the end of my road. This is a 5 minute walk. This bus travels between Louisburgh and Westport. From Westport there is a train which travels three and four times daily all over Ireland. In Westport town there are many places where you can also hire bikes.

Other things to note

Westport House and Country estate is a great day out. It is situated at the Quay Westport. Here you will get a chance to see a beautiful old century house and all its antique furnishings. A must see. All over the estate there are things to do for the whole family.

Hi my name is Rita. This is my home town where I was born and went to school. I am very lucky to come from such a beautiful part of the world. On one side I got the most beautiful beaches in Ireland and on the other the very famous Croagh Patrick, locally know as "the Reek." I lived in London for many years but as the saying goes, there is no place like home. One of my favourite things to do is walk the beach in all types of weather. I climb Croagh Patrick regularly also. I am still amazed when I reach the top and there is no fog as the views are truly amazing. I have put up some pictures for you to see. I also like to play badminton in my local community centre weekly. I look forward to welcoming you into my home and will do all that I can to make your stay a good one.
