This National And State Historic Site is nestled in the pines a mere stones throw away from the Lower North Fork of the S. Platte River. It is 12 miles S. of Conifer and less than an hour from Denver. This rustic cabin has a fully equipped kitchen.

The space

Because of summer water availability the cabin is rented from May 1 thru
Oct.31
This cabin has a detached hot shower and an outhouse.

Guest access

The cabin has its own yard, the property connects to thousands of acres of public lands situated in Pike National Forest. Access to the river is also free to the public. Hiking and biking trails in the vicinity are The North Fork and The Colorado Trail. The North Fork of The South Platte River, meandering past the cabin, offers white noise lulling you in your sleep, and provides many water sport possibilities.

Interaction with guests

I am in the near vicinity most of the time and more than willing to give tips on fishing, rafting, kayaking and cooking. I supply firewood and gas for the grill and I am committed to making sure you have A memorable experience.

We enjoyed our stay at Tony’s cabin. It was a magical place. He was a very helpful and hospitable host. We will definitely be back! It was a surreal experience. It is also across from the river, which is amazing. Thank you once again for being an awesome host, Tony!

Tony's place was nice and cozy. It is a rustic, antique cabin experience. The only downside I'd say is that we had to walk a few steps outside of the cabin to use the restroom. But besides that, we had a good time and enjoyed the stay. We would recommend it.

I'm very sorry that you didn't read my listing. It accurately states that the bathroom is a outhouse and that the shower is outside. I know to some folks consider that unacceptable, but to most it is part of an uncomparable experience!

Great rustic fishing cabin. Tony was very accommodating and more than eager to help with whatever we needed yet, gave us plenty of space. Kitchen is stocked, and the cabin has all the amenities you'd need for cooking in or spending the night at the cabin. Gas fireplace (coming soon) and a wood fired stove. Hard to get the oven going with the fire but, the range worked perfectly. Cabin is about 2 mi from the North Fork/South Fork Confluence of the Platte River. Easy to get to and a great quite spot. Outhouse, Outdoor private shower all worked well. Would recommend this to any couple.

Tony was great host. He informed us about good trout fishing spots and though we weren't successful on day one, on day two we both caught trout. If you are not up for the outdoors and being off the grid this is. not for you. If you enjoy getting back to the simple things in life and reconnecting with nature this cabin is a great spot. There is a grocery store approximately 15 minutes from cabin and other stores as well in case you need anything.

Tony's place worked well for a weekend in the mountains with my friend! Since he lives right next door any questions or concerns can be answered easily. We loved the outdoor shower and enjoyed grilling and hanging out by the river close by.

The cabin was absolutely perfect! Just as described, very secluded from distractions in the city, & a great place near hiking and biking trails, a river to fish or kayak in, and wonderful scenery. Tony was so friendly and accommodating, he showed us around and explained everything we needed to know as soon as we arrived. The cabin is close enough to town you could drive 25 minutes to get to a major store and restaurants. Not too far from Denver, but far enough to feel closer to nature. Only wish we could've stayed longer! We will definitely be returning to this wonderland of solitude.
