Laurence's place is an absolutely lovely property in an ideal location for a trip to the South Downs. The edge of the national park can be reached in only a few minutes driving/cycling, which makes it an ideal place to start out - we cycled to and along part of the South Downs Way during our stay, which was tough but well worth it for the amazing views in both directions! It's also only a 20 min drive from Arundel Castle and the surrounding park, which made for a lovely walk. As for the place itself, I can't think of anywhere better to have stayed! It is a very spacious, light and clean coachouse, with a very comfortable sofa from which to relax and watch tv! The kitchen area was great, with plenty of different pans and utensils. For food, it couldn't be easier as a large Sainsburys is located directly across the road (which also proved a handy spot to lock our bikes up). Check-in was very easy even though we didn't meet Laurence - he provided very clear instructions to direct us to the property and get the keys. Overall, I'd thoroughly recommend a trip to the South Downs, in particular Laurence's brilliant place!

We had a lovely weekend in the south downs and stayed at Laurence's place for one night. He made sure checkin was smooth and gave us clear directions to find the house. We found the property in very clean and tidy condition, with a really well equipped kitchen, clean towels and bed linen. It basically looks brand new! Great location for beautiful countryside walks close by, the Sainsbury's opposite is handy and WiFi was accessible for us, too. Laurence's place is very spacious, light and modern. If I had to find a fault, the road outside is a little bit noisy, but that didn't detract from our perfect stay there. Thanks a lot for a lovely weekend in the countryside!

Great coach house, in a great location! It's true what the other reviews have said, the pictures do not do Laurence's place justice. The coach house is much more spacious than it appears in the pictures. Laurence was great with communication and we got in and found everything we needed no problem. Great location for visiting South Downs, or nearby vineyards, as we did! I will definitely be recommending Laurence's place and won't hesitate to stay again!

Extremely comfortable stay in Laurence's wonderful coach house. It was fully equipped and right across the road from Sainsbury's. stayed for almost 2 weeks whilst refurbishing my own apartment ready to let out. Will be staying at Laurence's coach house again for my next long stay visit to the uk.

Loved Laurence's flat, he has clearly spent a lot of time furnishing and decorating it to a very high standard. Stay went very smoothly - check in was flexible and instructions/communication with Laurence before were very easy. We were shown round when we arrived and felt at home immediately. All the essentials you could imagine were provided, bed was exceptionally comfortable, and location was great for escaping to the South Downs and nearby areas. Thank you Laurence!

Delightful large apartment. Bigger than it looks. I was travelling without my partner so this wasn't an issue, but only a double bed. Other than that, everything you could wish for. I liked that previous occupants had left condiments etc behind, so you didn't have to buy everything for a few days stays. Highly recommended overall.

Laurence User ProfileLaurence is a superhost.

I am 62 year old Professional, who has two wonderfull children and recently two equally wonderfull grandchildren.

I am an engineer by qualification and am currently working as a senior manager for a water utility.

I love all sorts of sport and have recently taken up golf which seems to be a common sport for people of my age to take up. I play it badly but really enjoy the friendship, fresh air and scenary that comes with it.

I also ski, play badmington, table tennis and walk, and hope to do much more going forward.

I love to travel and have been to many places with my job and for leisure. Favourite places are Italy, especially Rome and San Francisco.

I love to cook, but unfortunately not a natuarl, I tend to follow recipes, but I will try anything.

Five things I cannot live without:
1. My family, children and granchildren are most important things in my life.
2. I have to have a purpose in life, something to do a reason for getting up each day that excites and interests me.
3. I love good company, good food, wine and conversation.
4. I love a good book
5. holidays to interesting places.

Favourite music, thats a difficult one but tend to like late 60s and 70's rock bands. Favourite bands Deep Purple, Pink Floyd, Led Zepplin, Mott The Hoople, Queen and Barclay James Harvest and Cold Play.

If I were your guest, I would be very respectful of your home. I have worked hard all my life to build a comfortable home and value what I have. A recent divorce has meant I have lost a beautiful house that I shared with my wife and moved to something very modest. But its home and I surround myself with things that I value and care for.

When you invite someone into you home, you have to understand the boundaries, enjoy their hospitality but not take liberties.

If I were hosting, I would ensure my guests felt at ease, I would probably not be in residence and would allow them the run of my home. On arrival I would welcome them and run through the essentials of the home to ensure their stay was comfortable and met their requirements.

The kitchen and all the facilities would be available for their use.

With regards to me, I believe I am a kind caring person who is considerate of others. I love the company of others, I am sociable with a good sense of humour. I work hard but also have found in recent years I need to make time outside of work to pursue other interests which I have sacrificed bringing up a family.

Not looking forward to retiring though, will probably work as long as I am able, I love the interaction at work andkeeping my mind active.
