In storied Tetherow Crossing
Welcome to the StarryWood high outback desert where we love keeping it simple, light and campy!
This is our home and we love being here :-)
We mostly inhabit The Space Upstairs,
i.e., The Kitchen, The Dining Room, The Upstairs Living Room, The Minor Upstairs Master and The Deck.
When we're not playing games on The Dining Room table, it's probably being used to assemble a jigsaw puzzle while listening to music and enjoying a refreshing choice beverage after a hard day of working and playing outdoors, laughing and giggling out loud :-)
We love our home and we thought it would be fun to share it with you because for us the best about our home is actually whom we choose to share it with.
You're welcome to enjoy yourself and make The Downstairs Space your home during your stay. Take time to refresh in The Downstairs Main Master Bedroom with Adjoining Private Bathroom. Please enjoy your breakfast extra sunny side up on The Deck or take in a refreshing cowboy sunset out there. Whenever possible please utilize The Deck Stairs to access The Deck.
The WildOutback: Enjoy 2.25 acres of juniper forest with backyard overlooking Deschutes river and expansive Cascade views of the three Sisters - Hope, Faith & Charity - and Broken Top.
Enjoy a leisurely walk down to the river and you may run into delicious wild blackberries; take a refreshing dip in natural riverbank beaches; dive in for an invigorating swim against the rushing current; or just take in the sound of nature and relax along the riverbank on the grass at Tetherow Park.
This is a relaxed family household that is full of love and good vibes. We try to keep things casual and low key and expect that our guests do the same. We're sharing our home with fellow travelers because this is the kind of place we would have loved to stay in on one of our own advencations.
If you expect to have a fancy upscale experience, you might consider staying at one of the many beautiful resorts in the Bend/Redmond area. Our home is most ideal for guests who want a simple, clean, easy-going, nature-filled stay.
Please let us know if there's anything you need in order to make your stay more enjoyable. If you notice some amenity or comfort you'd like to have that we might have overlooked, please let us know during your trip instead of in a review afterward. We're a hard working family that has tried to think of everything, but have come across the occasional persnickety guest that doesn't understand what the average AirBnB experience is like and expects our home to be like a five star hotel.
Everyone is welcome at The RoundHouse, we just want people to understand exactly what it is that we provide (which is definitely a lot of bang for your buck!).
The price for your stay at The RoundHouse is cheaper than the Motel 6 on busy highway 97 here in town. Please keep that in mind as you review our place, as reviews are incredibly important to the success of our business.
There are games and puzzles in the closet if you want to stay in after a long day out and we highly recommend getting a growler beer fill in town if you enjoy local brews. You're more than welcome to borrow one of the growlers on the green hutch.
Guests can access: The Downstairs Bedroom with Attached Bathroom, The Downstairs Living/TV Room, The Deck via The Deck Stairs and The Wild Outback.
KITCHEN: Kitchen access is minimal and ideal for independent day-trippers who love to get goatin' outdoors and require only minor meal preparation like using the microwave.
REFRIGERATOR: Not recommended for guests who will need to store a lot of food in the refrigerator or plan to prepare and cook most of their meals at home.
BABIES: Not recommended for guests traveling with infants.
Interaction with guests
Guests are more than welcome to ask questions about the area or join us for a cup of joe on the deck before heading out on your daily adventures.
Matt knows about trails, biking, real estate, BLM (Bureau of Land Management) public land space, breweries, restaurants and a bit of city history.
Other things to note
We have a seven-year-old son that tends to act like a seven year-old-boy.
He knows to give you your space, but if you engage him, you might find yourself learning about Legos, Pokemon and Skylanders video games.
During your stay, you will have private use of the downstairs Jack & Jill bathroom. This modest-sized bathroom features a COMPACT SHOWER STALL and TOILET that are definitely on the smaller side of standard. The shower is a bit snug.
If you stay during the week, we tend to get up around 7:30 or 8:00 and our schedule is quite varied from day to day. Bedtime for Ike in the summer is around 8:30 - 9:00pm.
We also have a small dog named Terrie and a cat named Cinnamon.
Lastly, if this is your first AirBnB trip and you haven't registered yet, you can get a $30 travel credit by using our registration code: www.airbnb.com/c/mgilman4
We expect guests to be nice and polite. This is a shared space with a family.
We ask that you keep the noise level lower between the hours of 8:30pm (on weeknights) and 7:30am. You are more than welcome to watch TV and hang around the house, just nothing too loud.

We love living in our fun unique round house in historic Tetherow Crossing in a secluded part of Redmond with our son Ike (6), dog (Terrie) and cat (Cinnamon). We enjoy being outdoors hiking, biking and exploring. We also love kicking back with an IPA either on our deck, in our backyard or next to the wood stove inside.
Sometimes we are homebodies, which is why we are so happy to be living in such a beautiful house in a great neighborhood on the edge of Redmond, OR. The whole house feels like a glamping vacation
We enjoy getting to know people and helping them feel comfortable in Central Oregon. Matt will share his knowledge about trails, bike rides, real estate, breweries and local businesses.
If you come on a nice weather weekend, chances are we will have a campfire in the backyard that is kid friendly and fun.
