This sweet, sunny cottage is right on the Connecticut river. It is incredibly private, with no neighbors on either side. It's a great for swimming and boating or just enjoying the passing river and it's only 10 minutes from Dartmouth college.

The space

The cottage has a full kitchen with a four-burner stove and a large toaster oven, one full bathroom, and a cozy living room. There is one enclosed indoor bedroom with a full bed. The most delightful place for sleeping is the queen bed on the screened in porch. There is also a full bed in the sleeping loft. There is a gas grill on the porch that you are welcome to use!

Guest access

There is a canoe and three paddle boards on the property that you are welcome to use and lots of room on the expansive lawn for all sorts of lawn games. We have badminton, bocce and croquet and you are welcome to bring along any other games that are good for big lawns!

Interaction with guests

The cottage is set away by itself, but we are a close drive away in case of any emergencies.

The cottage is very clean and beautifully situated. The hosts make it very easy to check in and check out. Ideal in warm weather but bring lots of warm clothes if the temperature is going to drop as it is not insulated. There are canoes and a nice farm and cute cafe two miles away. We enjoyed getting delicious take out sandwiches from Stella's in Lyme, and Hanover is quite close if you want to visit. A wonderful spot!

This was the perfect home for our young family to get away for a few nights. We had fun at the house, in the yard, in the water, and at nearby attractions. We'll definitely come back again.

The cabin was exactly as expected with a lovely view of the CT. River. We arrived on a rainy day and still enjoyed the view from the comfort of the porch. The next day, the weather was perfect as was the location - privacy with easy access to Hanover, Thetford or Lyme.Jane communicated clearly and frequently and answered questions as they arose (like "do you have a coffee maker!) The answer is "yes." We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

This cottage is absolutely amazing! We loved staying here with our family and dogs. It is as described! In person is better than the photos. So nice of the hosts to make the canoes and stand up paddle boards available for guests to use! Will definitely come back again.

Second time staying at the magical cabin and just as I remembered it. Stayed with my parents and in-laws. Everyone loved it! Very clean, comfortable, and Jane was very accommodating, accessible and communicative through the whole process. Will be returning again!

Great cottage stay - Enjoyed the river, swimming, SUP and all the lawn games... all within minutes from Dartmouth wedding!

Spent a long summer weekend with our grown kids. Awesome spot right on the river. Great and swimming. Plenty of outdoor toys to entertain. Small but comfortable cottage - the beauty of this cottage is not the cottage itself which is basic and not large (not a lot of indoor privacy) but the property itself -- 8 private acres on the river in a rural area just 10 minutes to Dartmouth. We enjoyed King Flour Bakery, Circle Garden and the Hanover community, but spending a summer day on the water or playing croquet on the lawn were the best. Very private, scenic, outdoor fun.
