As a New Orleans native, I returned to my home city for my wedding ceremony and celebrations. I rented Liz's home for myself and my out of town family members for the wedding week, and it was a premier experience. This is a perfect location to experience the beauty and peace of the Garden District, and yet be in very close proximity to the wedding festivities which were all held in the French Quarter. This is an extraordinarily safe location, and offers the charming experience of the "shotgun double" home so characteristic of New Orleans. Liz and her daughter were perfect hosts. I would strongly recommend this home for anyone traveling with family to experience the real New Orleans.

For starters, your location could not be better. Having close access to the St Charles streetcar gives you the freedom you need to travel downtown or uptown, but often times you will find happiness is just a few blocks away on Magazine st. Take advantage of what this place has to offer by accessing Tipitina's, Maple Leaf Bar (tuesdays), or Frenchman st (nearly any night of the week) and come back, all without cab/rideshare. It's a lovely way to experience new orleans and I would highly recommend it. The neighbors (and the neighborhood in general) is great. Welcoming, working-class people who don't ignore or condescend to newcomers. Dog & cat life in the neighborhood is lively and fun as well. The house itself is somewhere in between a hotel and a home ( in the best possible way). Everything is clean, functional, and ready for you. Most importantly, the shower is quite tall (GREAT news for the 6'5" + crowd). It's a shotgun style home, so if you have a late-night snacker in your crew, be sure to position them near to the kitchen. If you have a closeted jazzbo in your collective, they can come back after the show is over, and will appreciate having access to the kitchen and backyard easily, and without disturbing other guests. As for the host, Liz is a great communicator who checks in, but also gives you space. She made sure we felt right at home.

We love to travel all over the USA and Europe. New Orleans is our most favorite place and if you love music, food, architecture and fun, you will too.
Our 1860 Greek Revival home is in a great location close to everything in New Orleans. We fell in love with this home the minute we saw it. We purchased it in 2012 and refurbished it in 2014. This home was built when Abraham Lincoln was the President! Just think if the walls could talk!

Live, Love and Laugh is my motto and it's really easy to do in New Orleans!
