Monteloro is a small village located in the district of Pontassieve, about 17 km south-east of Florence.
Set on gentle and undulating hills, enjoys a bucolic flavour. The colors of the area take turns in a succession of images: from evergreen forests and olive trees to the bare fields and fallow land, from the whiteness of the villas and of the shrines of the late Renaissance to the heavy stone of rustic buildings, from the deep purple of the grape of Chianti Rufina to the diaphanous blue of the tuscan sky.
Coming from the bustle of the town, Monteloro offers to its guests the sensation of being in a country taken out of the time in which rediscover the beauty of happy moments spent in the name of peace and tranquility most exclusive. Walking through beautiful avenues with cypresses, you reach the idyllic world of each housing complex, discretionary isolated from other realities.
The estate "Villa il Poggiolo" has also the benefit of a high historic charm.
According to the legend, in its gardens Dante met the young and angelic Beatrice, who lived with his family in Casa Portinari, nearby our residence. Moving from the legend to the documented history, the object in question has undergone important renovations over the time. Its nature, certainly medieval, of house-fortress was refined over the centuries by wise redevelopment, even make it a small jewel of so-called typical florentine "Ville di delizia". Noble and wealthy families as Guadagni, Della Vecchia, Betti, Budini and Spolvieri enriched the property with outbuildings and appurtenances of great architectural value. Dating back to the eighteenth century is the lovely chapel, commissioned and built under the order of Vallombrosa, owner of the property until the suppressions of the late Nineteenth Century.
In the closing decades of the last century the whole property has been the subject of a decisive restoration.
In this case, the house dedicated to you is the result of the intelligent recovery of the old barn. The porch and the upper loggia, once used as a storage of hay and must, have been enhanced through the realisation of a veranda (ground floor) and of a large balcony (first floor), both framed by two tripartites orders of round arches. The house claims its Arcadian origins with a deliberately cozy furnishings, with valuable objects: silver vases, refined fabrics, floor of the kitchen with Carrara marble, ethnic statues, design's pieces.
For common use, along with a few discrete families of the complex, were the well-kept lawn in front of the property and the large pool behind the same, surrounded by the famous vineyards of Marchesi Antinori.
"La casa di Guta" wait a guest interested in prestigious and full in personality residences, a guest eager to spend a relaxing time in the tranquility and elegance of Tuscany, a guest who fall in love with the history and the landscape of the place and who be carried away by the emotions transmitted by them.
