Slomer, Veliko Tarnovo Province, Bulgaria

Slomer village is full of rural Bulgarian charm and amazingly peaceful, where the locals still use horse and cart to get around and you may never see a car pass by the house. A ten minute walk from the house is the village lake where you can picnic and enjoy the abundance of wildlife it attracts. But if you're feeling a bit more adventurous there are many historical, cultural and natural attractions nearby such as the historical old capital city Veliko Tarnovo, The Architectural reserve Arbanassi, Dryanovo Monastery, Tryavna, Etera, Krushuna waterfalls and swimming pool, Devetashka Cave, Emen Gorge, Orlovo Caves, Cherven Medieval village, Ivanovo rock churches. A bit further south is the amazing abandoned socialist building Buzludzha and the Shipka monument. But if total relaxation and pampering is what you're after just 20 mins up the road is Ovcha Mogila spa resort.

During your stay
I live down the road with the dogs. The cats and chickens (all very friendly) live on the premises. We do not use the guest garden and keep a very low profile when we come to feed the chickens and cats. I am available anytime to help assist with planning sightseeing trips, fishing trips and permits, if you require a permit please message me prior to booking. Permits are approx 23 lev- 10 pounds a year. Private lakes do not require a permit but have their own entrance fee. Nearby fishing spots are Alexander Stamboliiski Dam, The river Danube, Yantra and Rositsa, the most common species you will find in these spots are carp, catfish, pike, bream, mullet, nase, barbel, perch, rudd, and bleak. Shopping and evening meals can also be prepared for you (subject to additional costs) or if there is anything else you require please let me know, I am happy to help.
