As you step through the ancient doors into the souk styled hallway, you are transported to another world. Santai is a luxurious, stylish apartment that embodies the perfect blend of boho charm and wabi-sabi elegance. This unique retreat offers an inviting open-plan living area with warm, earthy tones, natural textures, and curated vintage decor.

Outside, a small private roof terrace extends the living area, with views of the surrounding South Devon Countryside and Totnes below.

The space
Santai (meaning "relax" in Indonesian) is a place of calm and serenity.

Imagine a cosy, character filled kitchen and living area nestled under the sloping roof of a rooftop apartment in Totnes. The ceiling features beautifully aged, exposed wooden beams that bring warmth and history to the space, contrasting with the modern design elements. Skylights are thoughtfully positioned between the beams, allowing natural light to flood in and showcasing views over the roof tops to the rolling South Hams hills.

In the kitchen area, stylish cabinets and wooden shelves complement the rustic beams, balancing contemporary convenience with rustic charm. A belfast sink sits under a skylight window. The countertops are quartz, adding a touch of sophistication. Along with the perfect addition of a wine fridge.

The living area seamlessly flows from the kitchen, furnished with a mix of a cosy, textured sofa and a jute rug that create a relaxed, bohemian feel. One wall features a large window and the other glass doors leading to a small rooftop terrace, where potted plants and seating for 2 provide a peaceful outdoor retreat with panoramic views of the town and surrounding countryside.

Two bedrooms both with King Size beds, adorned with luxurious 400TC pure cotton sheets and duvets sourced here in Totnes. Bedroom 2 can also be configured as a twin beds upon request.

Both bedrooms have stunning ensuite bathrooms crafted in micro cement by a local artisan. Bedroom 2 ensuite has a small walk in wardrobe/cupboard behind the antique Asian rice farmers door.

Guests have private access to the entire apartment and roof top terrace.

Bedroom 2 - Has the option to be 2 single beds or 1 kingsize bed. When booking please let us know your preference.

There are just too many to list , but here are some of our favourites, Hairy Barista , 5 doors down from Santai, the go to for the best coffee and incredible cakes. The Bull Inn, just wow, for lunch or dinner and thats 5 doors the other way from Santai. Also on your door step great pubs and bars, The Brew house, The Angel all within a minute. Sunday mornings are made for starting the day at Totnes cinema for a coffee whilst you relax to live jazz.

Riverside Beauty and Walks: Wander along the River Dart to take in the stunning natural scenery. You can enjoy a relaxing riverside stroll or, for a more adventurous twist, take a river cruise to Dartmouth. Nature enthusiasts can also explore the nearby South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with scenic walking trails and opportunities for bird-watching and exploring hidden coves.

Within 30mins you have the sheer beauty of Dartmoor and 30mins or less the other way some of the UK's best beaches. The list goes on. Good news we have lots of books in the apartment about the local area
