The Yurt: lost in nature, close to a Lake with a wonderful view on the mountains nearby when you wake up. The bed is really great, and the feeling when the rain is falling on the yurt during the night is perfect to sleep. It might get muddy around so wear not sensitive shoes! Kitchen and shower with hot water, so perfect. The host: Nina is wonderful, really helpful and communication was great. Feel free to explore the villages around (like Ennerdale), everyone knows Nina and you will feel more than welcome!

We had a wonderful stay in the yurt. If you're after a secluded, peaceful stay in beautiful surroundings then this is the place for you. You're literally on the doorstep of the Lake but have all the home comforts available to you. Be aware that the location is very remote and there aren't any shops or places to eat in walking distance so make sure you bring some supplies with you!

I cannot over sell the yurt. We wanted to get out in the middle of nowhere and spend some quality time away from technology and that is what we got. A 5 min walk to lake ennerdale which to walk around is stunning and boasts a beautiful sun set. The yurt is bigger than we thought and the fire is so efficient at keeping the place warm. My only concern was that it was in someones garden so we wouldn't get the privacy we wanted but I needn't have worried. The yurt is hidden at the back of the garden behind trees and it feels like a whole world of your own. Nina is very respectful and helpful. She went out of her way to accommodate for me and my partner and is full of knowledge on the local area and walks. I would recommend to anyone!!!! Thanks Nina!!

Definitely recommend staying in Nina’s yurt up on Ennerdale lake. The Yurt was great, and there is access to all the essentials (kitchen, toilet, shower etc.). It is a beautiful and quieter area of the lakes, with access to many beautiful fell walks. We would definitely be keen to return in the future.

What a gem! If you're after somewhere totally off the beaten track and in the middle of nature then this is perfect. The yurt is great, you can be independent but Nina is at the other end of the garden if you need anything. She's a great host, very friendly and knowledgeable and we didn't want for anything. There's loads of walking trails on the doorstep, and Ennerdale is one of the quieter, less touristy lakes, but is still incredibly beautiful. We will definitely come back, it's great being able to completely switch off from the outside world and just relax!

We visited the Yurt to celebrate a 30th birthday. It was a lovely space in tranquil surroundings, a stone's throw away from the wonderful shores of the nearby lake. Nina was lovely and provided plenty of in-depth knowledge about the surrounding area; where to eat, good walks etc. If you're looking for a relaxing and unique getaway in the Lake District then don't hesitate, we would definitely go back again. The best break we've had in a long time!

Great setting for ultimate clamping on the lakeside. We loved the warm fire on the cool day we arrived, the comfortable bed, the warm kitchen and shower and the excellent breakfast that was provided for (and cooked by ourselves) . We loved it in the rain, but it will be better when the sun shines. Nina is an super host and very friendly and helpful.

I have travelled the World extensively and have a high standard of how I would like guests to experience their stay at Beckfoot.

My work has taken me from Moscow to Milan filming European TV commercials and Cape Town to Chennai as a visual effects director creating 'Matrix' style stunts. I really enjoyed my time working in Bollywood, Mumbai with Shah Rukh Khan on a feature film called Main Hoon Na. I retired from the media industry and my focus is now hosting guests from all over the World and sharing stories of our lives!

Ennerdale Water is a very quiet part of the Lake District - ideal for a relaxing getaway or stop off for those doing the Coast to Coast. Beckfoot, a Georgian farmhouse, is a base for Residential Courses as well as Bed & Breakfast to walkers and visitors who really want to find themselves in the heart of the Lake District. The house is furnished with a mix of antiques and unusual finds.
Good cuisine is important to me - healthy, fresh, locally sourced ingredients are used. Vegetarian, gluten and/or lactose free are available on request.
