The apartment is large and a good value. However, I have used Airbnb by numerous times and I can say my interactions with Mary were not the best when compared with owners. My 'not recommend' is purely based on these. The apartment itself is much larger than the photos make it seem and can be considered a good value.

I stayed in the first floor apartment for almost a month until I could move into my full-time apartment. The location was perfect: right off of South Broadway, two blocks from the Anheuser-Busch Brewery and Beer Garden, and very nicely situated in the historic Soulard neighborhood, near many bars and restaurants. The kitchen and downstairs laundry were great amenities to have for my stay, and the bedroom was comfortable and dark with the shades drawn. There were one or two nights where I had some noise coming from the bar patio next door, but it was not an issue for the majority of my stay.

Mary Dee's home is beautiful, spacious and clean. She is a kind host and makes herself available. The apartment is even nicer than it appears in pictures. It is large and was more than enough room for me. It is bright and well lit but has shades to shut out the light when you need to rest. Its in a quiet neighborhood and there is a bar nearby if you're looking for dinner or a drink. I was able to rest up for work every night and found her home extremely relaxing. Thank you again for being a great host and offering such a welcoming place.

We love this apartment! It has everything you could possibly need and nothing extra (i.e. no one else's stuff!). Spacious, clean, good light and a great bed. Would stay again, and it's perfect for long term!

Lived here for about 5 months and had a great time in the Soulard neighborhood. A great bar next door, a farmers market up the street that you MUST go to Saturday mornings, and a close hop on the interstate. Mary Dee was kind enough to stock some snacks in the refrigerator for me prior to my arrival so I didn't have to run to the store that evening (there is a Schnucks less than 10 min away). The apartment is spacious. The king sized bed was very comfortable, and the curtains block out all the light! The bedroom even has an electric fireplace that works :) The living room and kitchen were both roomy as well. I felt right at home when I arrived. The tv has lots of channels and a DVR. And the kitchen is fully stocked. Side note: I had a neighbor living upstairs the length of my stair and because there are two water heaters, I was never without hot water. The washer and dryer in the basement were never left full of laundry so there were no issues there either.

I stayed at the historic brownstone flat for almost three months in total due to a work rotation in St. Louis. I had a great experience staying here, and I would highly recommended it for anyone, whether you are staying for 1-3 nights or 1-3 months. The interior was decorated very nicely, and made me feel at home in a very short time. I appreciated this since I was staying here for a few months. Also, absolutely everything I needed was furnished. The location is great because you are within walking distance of many resturants/pubs (many of which offer shuttles to the ballpark), and the Budweiser brewery. Overall I highly recommend this place, and next time I am in St. Louis I will be sure to book again.

My husband Bruce and I bought the Soulard house in 1994. We restored it into two separate apartments. Bruce works for Alberici Constructors and I have various art and music projects that keep me busy. We live in the basement apartment and I will be there to greet you.
