The neighbourhood

McCrae is one of the most sought after locations on the Mornington Peninsula. It is a charming coastal suburb and will appeal to anyone who loves history, unique eateries and a relaxed beach atmosphere.
McCrae beach waters are smooth and tranquil and there can often be found uncrowded spots to enjoy a relaxing swim.
The beach is secluded and quiet, a welcome change from the bustle or Rosebud and the crowds of Dromana.
The suburb is named after the McCrae family who were the first Europeans to settle in the area and the McCrae Homestead is a National trust property open to the public.
McCrae has a yacht club and is popular with sailors from around the world. There is a small plaza which has a couple of supermarkets, specialty shops and eateries and there are other cafes within easy walking distance.
It is a 17 minute drive to Peninsula Hot Springs, or 11 minute drive to the Enchanted Adventure Garden. There are also beautiful scenic drives to wineries, the strawberry farm, Cape Schanck lighthouse and much, much more!

Getting around

Buses run along Point Nepean Rd but the best way to explore the area is with a car.

We had a tremendous stay in this beautiful home. It was only two nights and I wish it was two weeks. It is a great location, nestled away from everything but still super close to the beach and the shops. My wife and I would come back to stay in a heartbeat.

Cosy and eclectic; great for our little family. We stayed in top half of house which was perfect for our family of 4. Really quiet and had everything we needed. We left relaxed and happy. Thanks so much for a lovely stay. PS McRae is just lovely; brilliant family friendly beach and lovely little cafes.

Beautiful rustic home with a little forest for a garden :) Less than a 5 minute walk to the beach & a 10 minute walk to cafes or Coles. The main bedroom has stunning views & looks absolutely gorgeous in the evenings with the sun streaming through the high ceiling windows. Very romantic for couples <3

Super cute and cosy little place that you instantly feel at home within. It's very much a family holiday home, rather than a slick designer space - with all the warmth and charm you'd expect of a space that has been lived in and loved over the years. Gorgeous gardens, great location - I would highly recommend Mirador McCrae for a weekend away!

The house is clean, cozy and comfortable, it is well decorated and fully furbished. The owner is very considerate, she prepared us the fruit, cookie and sweets, and turned on the heater before hand. We felt fully welcomed and enjoyed our stay very much!

Our stay at the "Mirador" was lovely. After a long day and a late arrival, it was so nice to arrive to a lovely, neat and well lit cottage and settle in for the weekend. We didn't meet the hosts, but they were nice and friendly. The place was comfy, clean, and had everything we needed. We would definitely stay again.
