Golden Acre is a newly built townhouse villa by Alleynes beach on Barbados west coast. It is a lush and private setting on tropical manicured grounds 200 meters back from the water on the western coastline of Barbados. This makes it quieter and more private than most villas that are found along the coast.
The area is surrounded by lush tropically landscaped gardens and the natural backdrop of Mount Standfast. The swimming pool is set up against a natural coral stone alcove at the foot of Mount Standfast. It is a very private space where it’s not uncommon to see green monkeys playing in the trees. The pool is shared with the other 8 units at the Golden Acre development.
It takes 3 to 4 minutes to walk to Alleynes beach which is one of the most beautiful beaches on Barbados west coast. My guests are welcome to contact me any time. Feel free to call or email with any questions or for tips and advice regarding your stay.
The best part of Golden Acre is that it is as close as you can be on the West Coast to the water without being right on the main road that runs along the coastline. It's totally secluded, private and lush while still being seconds from one of the best beaches in Barbados.
There are 2 private parking spots in front of the home.
The bus is available on the main road (3 minute walk time to bus stop). The bus costs $1 USD. It takes you directly into Holetown for groceries, shopping, restaurants, bars all of which is just 5 minutes down the road.
Other things to note
You will probably get to see some of the little green monkeys that hang out in the trees on the edge of mount standfast while you are going for a swim in the pool! Please just don't feed them because we don't want them to start coming up to guests and expecting food.
There is no smoking inside the home. We ask our guests to treat our home as if it were there own. We do not allow large parties or destructive or disruptive behaviour. We want our guests to have a drink, play music, go for a swim, and have a great time! When you complete your booking you will be given a copy of the rental agreement with the full rules of the booking. In general, we just ask that you please just be respectful of our home.
Hello, my name is David Goodale.
My wife Jennifer and I are fortunate in that our work allows us to travel. Being from beautiful (but snowy) Canada we have spent several winters in Barbados, and eventually purchased a vacation home there.
I love the Caribbean and the laid back lifestyle, which is entirely and completely a change of pace from back home. It helps to offset the fact that by nature I am not particularly good at relaxing. Getting away for me forces me (a little bit) to take a deep breath and break habits like compulsively checking email. (Confession: I still check my email pretty much constantly, but I have to with my work!)
In general, I feel that keeping perspective on the valuable things in life is important and for me travelling and a change of location helps me to do that from time to time.
I hope to see more of the islands. (Or maybe all of them - did I just set a life goal?) I'd also like to get over to the UK and many different countries that I have not visited yet, which is especially bad on me as I've worked with so many nice folks from the UK for over 10 years through my business.
Thanks for reading and if you'd like to speak to me feel free to reach out and contact me.
