Where you’ll be

Saint Austell, Cornwall, United Kingdom

Situated on the south coast of Cornwall is the historic port of Charlestown. The unspoilt, original Grade II listed harbour was used as a key location for the filming of the BBC's remake of the 1970's hit series Poldark.

The harbour is the home port for a famous collection of old ships which are employed in film projects all over the world - they have brought work and life to the quays and harbour buildings and are a particular draw for visitors.

Just 15 minutes drive away is the beautiful town of Fowey - where the large, deep water harbour is a magnet for sailing fans; and foodies for the many bistros, cafes and restaurants where you’ll find menus offering the best in local produce – Fowey River mussels are a highlight.

Within Charlestown, there are some beautiful walks, a historic local pub - and plenty of restaurants and gift shops to be enjoyed whilst taking in the breathtaking views across St Austell Bay.

Other attractions nearby, include the magical Lost Gardens of Heligan, near Mevagissey (10 minute drive) and the world renowned Eden Project (10 minute drive).
