Nestled on the third floor of an art deco building on the trendy street of Kloof street is designer Katherine-mary Pichuliks fresh white corner apartment. Large windows frame epic views of the city and Table Mountain.
Katherine-Mary Pichulik is the designer of her eponymous jewelry brand PICHULIK, a range of statement jewelry pieces inspired by Africa and the middle east. Her apartment carries the treasures of her interests and is eclectically decorated with baskets, sculptures and masks from across Africa and her travels. The walls of the apartment showcase the art of some of South Africas hottest contemporary artists such as Goergina Gratrix and Lucie de Moyencourt.
The lounge has a large white down couch perfect for catching afternoon sun whilst listening to the soft bustle of the cape Town city life. A daybed sits in the corner of an enclosed balcony , a great spot to enjoy the setting sun after a day of exploring the Cape.
The Kitchen is a deep azure blue and has atmospheric lighting-it becomes the a great night spot for communal cooking.
The block is an iconic art deco block in the area and has a large gracious courtyard suitable for strolls and moments of reflection. The apartment block is perched atop two well known Cape town restaurants , one of which has an early baking run thus your days are welcomed in by the aroma of fresh coffee and croissants.
Because of this apartments incredible location , you get to both experience the city by foot yet also have access to two Myciti stops a few metres away. The main cool bars and hip hangouts are also a stones throw away as well as a plethora of yoga studios , bakeries and quaint shops.
They can access the entire apartment except Kat's room.
Interaction with guests
My friend Kat, who lives in the apartment, is one of the most wonderful women I know. She runs a business and is often very busy so she will probably be sticking to herself most of the time.
She has asked me to host the apartment to save her some time so any questions can be directed to me.
- Noise must be kept down after 11pm
- All the neighbours are friendly and respectful of each other.
- We also like to respect each other in the flat, if someone is having a nap, we keep it down.
- We keep our food separate from guests.
- No strangers brought back to the flat please. Kat collects beautiful things and we'd like them to stay in the flat ;)
- We like to keep the flat neat and tidy so guests are expected to clean up after themselves.
- We ask guests to respect the common space in the lounge. For example, no 'hanky panky' on the couch please. You have a lovely bedroom and double sized bed for that! :)
Towels and Linens: Please be respectful of bed sheets and towels. Makeup/foundation, face medications/creams, and tanning products will stain and/or bleach linens/towels. Please be sure to remove products before using the towels or getting into the bed. Please avoid using regular hand/bath towels with all skin products. Guests are not to wash laundry belonging to the flat in order to hide stains as this can sometimes "set" the stain. Housekeeping will wash all laundry. Unsalvageable linens/bath towels will be charged to the guest.
