★OUR CLEANING PROTOCOLS SET US APART★
Our family stays in multiple vacation rentals each year, and we know firsthand that the cleanliness of a rental can make or break your vacation. Unlike most vacation rentals, at Chicory Hill, we wash/change out all duvet covers, living room throw blankets, and living room throw pillow covers between every guest, in addition to all the typical bed sheets and pillowcases. We take cleaning very seriously, and we don't cut corners. Our whole-home process is extremely extensive because we know that your relaxation and enjoyment depend on it. Our home is family-managed and cared for because we believe you deserve the highest level of guest experience, cleanliness, and peace of mind during your vacation.

Chicory Hill has three suites, each with a new, luxurious ensuite bathroom.
•The primary, main-floor bedroom has a King bed, a stunning walk-in shower with a tile surround and rain shower head, and a double vanity.
•The large, second-floor King suite has a King bed and a full-sized daybed. This suite also features a brand-new tile shower with a rain showerhead and a double vanity.
•The second-floor Queen suite has a Queen bed and a newly remodeled bathroom with a tub/shower combination and a gorgeous single vanity.
•The main floor also has a powder room.

At ChicoryDoorCounty, we think vacationing with kids should be fun, not stressful. We’ve created a unique, natural outdoor play area including a real sunken rowboat for pretend play, a dry riverbed, a pea-gravel truck/digging area, and an adorable barn playhouse with hand-carved wooden farm animals to “feed”.

•A large wood-burning fire pit with seven Adirondack chairs and complimentary firewood
•An original farmhouse covered (open) back porch with a bistro table and seating

•Propane fire table with patio seating - propane provided
•Gas grill with propane provided
•Access to detached garage, which contains marshmallow forks and outdoor games, including Corn hole, Ladder Golf, and Yardzee. Our garage is old and small. It is not suitable for vehicle parking.

Our home is a classic Door County farmhouse that underwent a complete restoration and remodel in 2024. The space is two stories and 2,200 feet.
•Seven guests maximum - due to one of our beds being a daybed, a maximum of six adults permitted.
•Our new kitchen is gorgeous, modern, and fully stocked with a dishwasher, induction stove, and refrigerator/freezer with ice maker. We also provide a traditional coffee maker, a Keurig, a coffee bean grinder, and an electric tea kettle. Also available are induction pots and pans, a toaster, crockpot, blender, kitchen towels, hot pads, baking pans, baking sheets, and BBQ utensils. Dishes, utensils, children’s dishes, glassware, wine glasses, and additional barware are also on site.
•Large dining table with seating for seven guests

•Five Roku smart TVs (One in each bedroom, one in the living room, and one in the basement game room)

Bed linens, pillows, blankets, bath towels, kitchen towels, beach towels, and hair dryers are provided.
We supply paper products, including paper towels for the kitchen and six rolls of toilet paper per bathroom. We also supply hand soap, dish soap, dishwasher soap, laundry detergent, and garbage bags.
We supply one small, travel-size shampoo, conditioner, and body wash per full bathroom. We recommend that you bring shower essentials for stays longer than two nights.

IMPORTANT DETAILS WE’D LIKE TO MENTION
•Chicory Hill is located on the south end of Sister Bay, not far from Pirates Cove Adventure Golf. Guests may hear laughter, joy, and music while using the outdoor spaces of our home. Like most locations on our peninsula, some vehicle noise will be heard outside. We have a six-foot privacy fence and a tree line in our backyard, adjacent to our outdoor entertainment space. We have a couple of reviews in which guests mention that our home is "walkable" to downtown Sister Bay. While this is technically true, guests should be aware that there is a large, long hill leading into downtown from our home. This may present difficulty when walking back to Chicory Hill for some of our guests. South Sister Bay locations, including Peach Barn Brewery, Johnson's Fun Park, Pirates Cove mini-golf, and Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store, are an easy walk from Chicory Hill.
•Please note that Chicory Hill is a remodeled classic farmhouse. We have slanted ceilings near the sides of our upstairs beds. At the end of our basement stairwell, there is a small section with a slightly low ceiling height, requiring guests to duck their heads. Because we added central heating and cooling during restoration, our basement ceiling has areas that are slightly lower than modern basements. Guests taller than 6'3" may need to slightly duck in some areas.
Furniture and decor may differ from the listing photos, as we strive to maintain the comfort, quality, and cleanliness of our home's furnishings.
Guest access
Guests will have access to our entire home and yard. There are three locked rooms in the basement without guest access: one supply room, one cellar room containing our sump pump, and one mechanical room containing our furnace. Our garage is small and very old. Guests can access our garage for storage of their personal items, such as bicycles, coolers, and kayaks, etc. We supply firewood for our firepit, and propane for our fire table and outdoor grill. Our semi-circle, pull-through driveway has parking for three vehicles (village-enforced maximum).

★IMPORTANT BOOKING INFORMATION★
Please read our entire listing, including our house rules. We kindly ask that guests requesting a booking check their Airbnb messages after submitting a request, as we confirm that you understand our booking requirements. We are happy to answer any questions you may have about our booking process.
We require an electronically signed renter agreement and security deposit hold for all bookings. These requirements help us ensure that all guests follow our policies and respect the property, which in turn safeguards the experience and comfort of your upcoming vacation. This is permitted by Airbnb's terms of service for software-integrated hosts when the process is disclosed in advance. That process is as follows:
•After we accept your booking request, you will receive an encrypted, secure link within an Airbnb message that will take you to our point-of-contact form, security deposit hold form, and rental agreement. Our rental agreement is required by our insurance and is very standard. The terms of the agreement include our house rules, a waiver of liability and assumption of risk, occupancy limits (7), cancellation policy, and ordinance requirements for the Village of Sister Bay.
•We also require a $300 security deposit hold for all bookings. This is processed through our management software and our secure credit card processor. This hold is scheduled to process two days before your arrival and is then released after your departure, assuming there are no damages to discuss.
•To finalize your booking and avoid cancellation, please read and sign the agreement and schedule the security deposit hold before your free cancellation period ends. We highly recommend that guests complete this process immediately.
