Tobies Place is in a convenient, safe area 30km south of Adelaide. It is easy to drive to & from the city via the nearby Southern Expressway. As well as this the McLaren Vale wine region is less than 15km away. The accomodation is very clean, modern, comfortable with all the requirements necessary to add to the enjoyment of your stay. The only reservation is for anyone who may be incapacitated in some way (e.g. stroller), might find it difficult dealing with the loose pebbles from the driveway into Tobies Place. Also, the steps into the shower may also prove challenging. Otherwise would highly recommend it to anyone.

It was my great experience to live in Tobies place. The house has more privacy, comfort and feel like a home. I would love to live again same place whenever i am in Adelaide. Spcially the host Ms. Tamara was very helpful and gave me all kind of support.

Great little place, modern, clean and well located in the the Noarlunga area. The only real negative is the crazy number of laminated signs asking for taps to be turned to cold, air conditioner to be set to a certain temperature etc. While the signs did detract from the experience, I would stay again.

Thank you for your comments Steven. I really appreciate your feedback about how modern, clean and well located my Tobies Cottage is. Thanks also for the feedback regarding signs. I do have guests from all over the world and they were meant to simplify things and not offend! I will sort this out right away. It's great that you would choose to stay with me again and I would appreciate any constructive feedback in the future about how things can be improved.

Tobies place was well priced and easy to find. However, the unit was covered in printed, laminated signs reading "WARNING!!!!!!!" with instructions on how we could limit ourselves to save Tamara money. There was even an electricity budget for the days we were staying there.. Thankfully the heaters didn't work for the first night so we couldn't blow it. Tamara may be unaware of the impact of endless signs, but it really isn't relaxing and impeded our stay. Felt like staying with weird family members constantly looking over your shoulder.

Response from Tamara:
Thank you for your feedback Hannah. Sorry that the warning sign for the macerating pump offended you. It really wasn't meant to be like that. I have had two instances where a nappy and sanitary product were flushed down the toilet and this necessitated a plumber to clear the macerating pump. A horrid job! I will have to look at another way beyond a warning sign to stress the importance of these products not ending up down the toilet! Tobies has two new reverse cycle air conditioning units and unfortunately one of them was faulty during your stay. You wouldn't expect that with new appliances but these things happen. I had arranged a repair person to come and sort it out and my hands are tied when it comes to time frames for repairs. I did place a column heater in Tobies in the room to replace the faulty aircon although other one that was still working will heat the entire property. Hannah sent a message to say that the other unit wasn't working but when we checked it 30 minutes after hearing about this it was found that the unit was working just fine. It had been set on 29 degrees which meant that it took longer to warm up before starting....but it did start and it did work. The repair person gave it a look over and it was working just fine. It was suggested to Hannah that it be started on 24 degrees to reduce the start up time and the temperature be adjusted from there for her personal taste. The reverse cycle operating manual is in the property. So sorry to hear that you think that everything is designed to save me money. I thought that Tobies as well fitted, comfortable, clean and great value for money. An entire unit for less than the price of a room in a house. I would have been happy to address any issues that you may have had and would have liked to have had the opportunity to fix your issues. I thank you for allowing the repair person access during your stay...much appreciated. Holiday guests do not get given electricity limits and utility use what you use and this was why you didn't have any readings on your arrival / wifi form. I do get long term guests who stay for extended periods and do not book through these sites. In these cases a weekly electricity limit is applicable (not gas or water) and their electricity reading get provided when they arrive. Yours didn't as you didn't have any limit. I am so sorry that you didn't enjoy your stay. My first negative review which just goes to show that you can't always please everyone ! But one iffy review alongside many positive ones is a sign that there's an issue to sort out, and keeps us on our toes! It is what it is, and a warning sign that offended you and your misunderstanding about utility charges is not the worst review in the world! Imagine the review if the place was filthy or misrepresented in the Airbnb description.... I will take your comments about the warning signage on board and try to put this across in a better way in the future...thank you. I will also ask my numerous repeat guests what I can do better. All the best for the future Hannah. I hope that you enjoy your future stays through the Airbnb platform and hope that you let other hosts know how they can do things a little bit better too. We try so hard to please our guests and it's disappointing that I didn't do so this time..

We had a wonderful time at Tobies Place as we're back in Adelaide for good, after spending years overseas. We need a comfortable homely feel place to stay for the time being while looking for a permanent home. We spend a nearly 2 weeks here. Tobies is exceptionally well looked after and the place is virtually spotless with spacious bathroom and everything you need in a kitchen is there. We nearly cook all our meals in the kitchen and during our cooking the smoke detector alarm went off twice. So please becareful as the detector is hyper active. Tobies located at a quiet and yet convenient location and minutes away from Noarlunga Centre. Last but not the least, Tamara's a wonderful lady and kept us well informed with the ongoings around Tobies and very accomodating and understanding when we extend our stay with short notices....thanks Tamara for having us.

My hubby and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Tobie's Place in Port Noarlunga, in April 2016! It provided the perfect space for our needs, and was a comfortable place to relax after our busy days tripping around the local sites, Adelaide and the Barossa. It seemed very central to the area; only a few minutes drive to a couple of local shopping centres, the cinemas, heaps of restaurants and of course: the gorgeous beach. Really conveniently located and easily accessible. The accommodation was about a 35 minutes drive from Adelaide, and an easy drive at that. We had no trouble travelling through the region at all. Upon arrival, we noted that the accommodation was immaculately clean and smelt divine! The bed was comfortable (and is a real bed!), the bathroom was quite sizable, and the open space living, dining and kitchen was spacious. Everything seemed modern and new, and the kitchen was the perfect size to whip up a quick meal. It had a fabulous little washing machine too. It simply had everything you needed for a comfortable stay. I also liked the fact that we could park our car directly in front of the accommodation, behind a secure roller door. It was private and we felt safe. The accommodation was exactly what we expected, in comparison to the listing description and photos. If anything, we were more impressed when we arrived. Our host Tamara was incredibly welcoming, and the unit contained maps and brochures of things to do in the region, which we found very interesting and most helpful. I would thoroughly recommend Tobie's Place to anyone looking for accommodation in the Port Noarlunga area. It is perfectly suited to a couple looking for a nice little break. There's so much to do in the region; it's not too far out of the city, and it's clean, secure and incredibly comfortable. Thank you Tamara for contributing to our fabulous little break in South Australia!! We'll definitely be back again!!

Along with my husband, we live in the scenic seaside village of Port Noarlunga. I chose to live in the same suburb as my rental homes! It helped me to settle when I moved here.

We moved to this wonderful place with our daughter and sons. We are originally from the UK. We have interests in travel, athletics and generally exploring this lovely country.
We have had hundreds of families stay in our holiday and relocation homes over the years (since 2009).
Many have been family's making the move out here to Australia.
We do our best to help and advise people in that situation.

My interests include: Boxers ( we had three of this lovely breed), watching our grandchildren at Athletics, music, socializing, films.

Hopefully everyone who stays with us will have an enjoyable and comfortable stay at one of my homes down under!
