About this listing

Rate is per couple & includes all meals, drives, walks, cruises & fishing.

Each room has a panoramic view of Lake Kariba & will bring you closer to nature than you ever thought possible.

No fences or generators - just sights & sounds of nature.

Extra people: £241 / night after 2 guests

The space

Our rooms are raised 2m above the ground and open fronted with extended thatched eves and half reed walls thus allowing for the breeze off the lake to cool the rooms. Each room has en-suite flush toilet, basin & open air shower with plenty of hot & cold running water.

The camp grounds are untamed and unfenced, wildlife is free to roam throughout the camp, with elephant often visiting camp during siesta time, browsing on the dense jesse bush around the rooms.

Guest access

We have a central boma area where we meet up before game viewing activities and where we have our meals at the same table, allowing different guests to interact and get to know each other better. We also have a firepit, where we gather in the evenings for a few drinks before dinner and chat about the days sightings.

We offer guests their creature comforts, deliberately comfortable beds, walk in mosquito nets, tasty freshly prepared wholesome meals, cold drinks and outstanding wildlife experiences.

Interaction with guests

The camp is owner managed and hosted with accompanying professional safari guides and being only 14 bedded, offers you a very exclusive and personalised photographic safari experience in the Matusadona National Park.

The neighbourhood

We are situated within the Matusadona National Park, on the shores of Lake Kariba, one of the largest man-made dams in the world. The park is fairly remote and isolated, thereby offering really exclusive game viewing activities.

Getting around

Access to camp is normally via speedboat from either Kariba (+- 1 hour) or from the nearby airstrips (Bumi and Rokari +- 30 minutes). Self-drive is possible, but only for experienced offroaders with 4x4s that have decent ground clearance (ie Land Rover or Land Cruiser).

Other things to note

We offer game drives in open topped 4x4 vehicles and bush walks with a professional guide, where guests can track the animals that happen to have been in the area at the time, like elephants, lions, leopard, buffalo, various antelope and the highly endangered black rhino. We also offer boat cruises and fishing on Lake Kariba.

House Rules
Not suitable for pets
No parties or events
May not be safe or suitable for children (0-12 years)

As the camp is unfenced and in a wildlife area, it is vital that guests pay attention to the host/hostess and guide/s and abide by their instructions. The most important being not to move unaccompanied after dark. The guide/s will always be available to take people to their rooms or to use the bathroom.

As we normally have different groups staying at the same time and we share meals and activities together, we expect guests to control their alcohol intake, so as to not get inebriated and out of hand.
