I have lived in Seattle my whole life and would be happy to provide you with a wealth of information about Seattle and Washington State. I am also an avid photographer, hiker and golfer and would be happy to direct you to the most beautiful places for these activities in the surrounding areas.

The neighbourhood

Upper Queen Anne is a charming community and is one of the most sought after neighborhoods in the city. Its proximity to downtown Seattle without being directly in the hustle and bustle gives you the best of both worlds. It is a wonderful place to live or visit. A wide variety of restaurants, nightlife, shops, grocery stores and other amenities as well as public transportation are only a few minutes from your front door. A few minutes more will have you at the Pike Place Market, Seattle's bustling waterfront and Ferris Wheel, Washington State Ferries, Woodland Park Zoo, The Ballard Locks, The Convention Center, The Seattle Art Museum, Qwest and Safeco Fields and downtown Seattle.

Getting around

Walking score of 83....YAY! You will be staying only 3 blocks from the heart of Queen Anne. There you will find eclectic shops, a wide range of restaurants from the gourmet to pizza joints to coffee shops, bars, parks and grocery stores. A quick 1 1/2 mile walk or drive will have you at the Space Needle, Seattle Center, Key Arena, The Pacific Science Center, the Experience Music Project, McCaw Hall(Opera & Ballet), Chihuly Garden and Glass, The Children's Museum and beautiful Myrtle Edwards Park situated on Elliot Bay. A short 1/2+ mile downhill walk in the other direction will bring you to the picturesque Fremont Bridge where you can go visit the "Fremont Troll", walk along the water's edge and visit many other restaurants, shops and bars. Another 3/4 mile walk will have you at Gas Works Park which boasts amazing views of the city.

Seattle is a very walkable city if you don't mind a few hills but we also have an efficient bus system that will take you all over the city with stops only a few blocks away from your front door. Uber, Lyft and several cab companies will also take you wherever you want to go.

Barring traffic, you are less than a half an hour from SeaTac Airport.

Other things to note

Great place and location! We were traveling with two families with four kids under six years old and loved the house. It was very relaxing staying there in between excursions. Fred and Jen were excellent hosts and we will keep their place in mind if the next time we are in Seattle.

The house is beautiful, well stocked and very clean. The beds are extremely comfortable with such nice comforters / blankets that I slept without any disturbance (I wake up a ton at night usually). The house itself is really well designed / decorated and Fred's photography is a beautiful touch. There's tons of stuff surrounding the area, but just make sure you're aware that there's some hills so you want actual walking shoes. Everyone in the area is extremely nice (we went jogging both mornings) and greeted us as we passed them. The neighborhood is really quiet and great for families. I love that there is free coffee/tea and the kitchen was really well stocked. The description and rules were perfect. Sitting out having coffee on the porch was such a relaxing space - definitely recommend Fred's house overall!

I don't ever want to stay anywhere else ever. Fred was an amazing host, his house had every guide to Seattle you'll ever need and it was comfortable and clean. I love this place. A quick (and cheap) uber to down town and I was sad to leave. Thanks Fred!
