We welcome you to our home. It was recently remodeled and sleeps 6 to 8 comfortably. The gourmet kitchen features a professional range, granite countertops, and custom cherry cabinets. Ample dishes and cookware provided. Enjoy separate activities in the living room and family room. The formal dining room seats 10-12 with casual dining in the kitchen for 11. Hardwood oak floors are throughout most of the house, with tile in the bathrooms. The master bath is laid with limestone, glass tile and a heated floor. There are three electric sky windows and a ceiling fan.
The back yard features a large deck surrounded by bench seating, natural gas BBQ (piped from house, so it never runs out), an outdoor eating table and a kid sized picnic table, sandbox and play structure, herb and vegetable garden, and fruit trees (in season). Play croquet, soccer, or horseshoes in the front or back yard. Collect 4-6 fresh eggs daily from our backyard chickens (no other care is required as their food and water are always well-stocked).
The street is closed to through-vehicle traffic, so there are very few cars passing by. Bikes and pedestrians can pass through to other parts of the neighborhood.
When you rent our home, we are traveling. You have the entire place for your use.
Interaction with guests
We are two teachers and like to travel with our kids during our school breaks. We have an on-call handyman while we are out of town.
Downtown Palo Alto with its restaurants and shops is a 20-minute walk, a 10-minute bike ride, or a 5-minute drive away. A public park with play structures and fields is a 10 minute walk. Enjoy the neighborhood coffee shop, salon, spa and market at the end of the street.
Stanford University and Stanford Shopping Center are just 3 miles away. Enjoy hiking and wildlife viewing in the nearby hills or at the Baylands. Take a day trip to San Francisco, Santa Cruz or the Wine Country.

Caltrain is a 15-minute walk.

We have a ping-pong table outside, plus croquet and other yard games.
We have a booster seat and port-a-crib available for the little ones, as well as toys, books, and family-friendly DVDs.
Basic paper goods and spices are available.
This is our family's full-time home. We expect that you will treat it as well as you treat your own home. Our neighbors are full-time as well and are not on vacation. No large gatherings. Quiet activities expected after 10:00 pm.
