A sustainable sunny single room studio, set in the garden and away from the main house. Includes comfortable queen-size sofa bed, TV, kitchenette and bathroom. Wi-Fi included.

A two minute walk to the train station (30 mins to CBD).

The space

The studio is set away from the main house, nestled in the tree-filled yard.
The newly-renovated facilities include a kitchenette (with microwave, toaster, fridge and kettle) and bathroom (toilet and shower). The toilet is run off tank water and solar panels power the place (and hot water) during the day.

The sofa pulls out to a comfortable full-sized queen bed.

Guest access

Please note that access to the studio is a little steep and not recommended for low-mobility travellers.
For those travelling by car, there is one car space (small car only) available off the street, and there is plenty of free street parking.
Guests are free to enjoy the backyard.
If you require clothes washer, this is shared with the main house.

Interaction with guests

We live in the main house and are happy to provide recommendations and advice.

Other things to note

We should note that based on our 'green' philosophy, we do not have an air conditioner installed. There is an electric blanket for cold days and a fan for hot days. Most guests have had no problem in these times, but if this is an issue then this may not be the place you are after.

Ideal for somebody or a couple who want a good value base in the Sydney suburbs. Quiet and comfortable.

Lovely little place, all your basic essentials. The bed is actually extremely comfortable. That is on comparison to any normal bed, the fact it's a pull out sofa is not something that impacts on your sleep at all. Very well located for public transport. If your reading reviews then don't expect a fully stocked kitchen as one person suggested. There is however a microwave and kettle which is plenty for a short stay, heaps of food locally and delivery readily available. Hard to find better value for money. An uber to the CBD is about $45 or less and takes 20 minutes. The train and walk about 40 mins and $3. Grateful to our hosts.

I loved the garden that this granny flat overlooks. It felt snug and secure and great value for money. A lovely place to wake up each morning. All the essentials were covered - warm bed, tv, little fridge, hot shower etc

FANTASTIC I loved this neighborhood. It's quiet, green, and people literally say hello to you when they see you on the street. Denistone may seem like way out there in the suburbs but it's really not far. Just 35 minutes away from Central station by train. The description of the apartment is completely accurate. We got exactly what we expected. It's clean and big enough for two persons. The electric blanket kept us warm so we didn't mind that there was no heater. Occasionally, freight trains would pass through. But unless you're doing something that requires full focus, it shouldn't bother you. Adam has a guide book that is comprehensive, so for the most part it's really not necessary to ask him questions. But when you do need to ask, Adam gives prompt and clear answers. You will have no trouble trying to contact this host. Five stars.

My Name is Adam and I'm from Sydney, Australia.

My wife and I love travelling, and it makes all of the hard work worth it. We like 'lower key' experiences in travelling, which is why we use airbnb.

As a guest we offer a clean, friendly and reliable guest who will most likely be out and about enjoying the sights and sounds of where I am rather than watching TV.

We have just finished making our studio self contained so are happy to offer it up for interstate and international visitors. Sydney is expensive enough as it is so we have priced it so people are not broke before they experience all there is to offer in Sydney and its surrounds.
