"Hollybanks" is charmingly located up the Mountain, in a woodland setting 1 km from Moycullen village, 20 minutes drive west of the medieval city of Galway, ideally located to explore the Wild Atlantic Way, enjoy the many festivals, explore Connemara, the Aran Islands & angling on Lough Corrib.

The space
This large room sleeps 4. It has 1 double bed and 2 single beds - a table and 4 chairs - open log fire - cable TV - plates, cutlery, a microwave & fridge (for guests who wish to bring food to eat in) a kettle, tea, coffee, breakfast cereals and fruit are provided. Guests leave the dishes for me to clean, and go and enjoy your day.

Guest access
Guests are welcome to use the front seating area for picnics or to just relax with a coffee and as a smoking area.
Children may explore and play in the woods under supervision and as the responsibility of their parents/guardians.
Dog owners may use the woods to walk their pets, but we ask you to scoop your dogs poop up please! and we can offer you a place to dispose of it.
The bathroom is shared, however we give priority to guests to use it when they are in the house.

Other things to note
During your stay you will have the benefit of quiet seclusion of the countryside, overlooking Lough Corrib, but with it`s convenient access to Galway City where you can enjoy all the activities such as festivals, lots of excellent restaurants choices, music, dancing and much more ..... Moycullen village is the gateway to Connemara, close to ferry sailings to the Aran Islands, Inishboffin Island which I highly recommend, fishing Lough Corrib and 3 Golf courses. I would recommend a minimum stay of 2 nights in order to fully experience the city and the surrounding area. For example, you would need to allow a full day for a trip to Connemara, or one of the islands, and there is nothing more relaxing than a day spent pottering around the city, sitting out over a coffee soaking up the atmosphere, shopping in the quaint shops in the Latin Quarter, eating from a wide choice of excellent restaurants, ending the day rambling from one pub to the next experiencing the variety of vibrant live music in the city`s has to offer.

When I lived in Dublin I hosted foreign students learning English in my home. I enjoyed this experience, and have continued to maintain contact with many of those students over the years since. I worked in a guest house, where I enjoyed interaction with the guests and took great pride in presenting the bedrooms to perfection. I volunteer on a tourist information desk. I am a warm friendly person, I enjoy meeting visitors and I will help in any way I can recommending places of interest to my guests. As my children are now adults, and have flown the nest, it gives me the opportunity to host guests, which is something I have always wanted to do.

During your stay
They say that Galway is "the graveyard of ambition ~ because those who come here, only do so with the intention of passing through on their way to somewhere better"..........but like so many, when I moved here I fell in love with it, and I have stayed. I enjoy meeting visitors, and sharing my knowledge of the beautiful places to see and things to do during your visit.
