Dora kindly allowed us to check in early, and her husband Pierluigi arrived to show us into the apartment.
Positive is that the apartment is very conveniently located for visiting the historical centre of Bari, shops and supermarkets are all close by and the covered market, just five minutes walk away has a wonderful selection of fresh fish and fruit and vegetables. It is also just 2 minutes from Via Crispi where the local bus from the airport stops. It is quite a long walk from the station 20/25 minutes; we found the train a cheap and ideal way to visit nearby places such as Trani, Polignano.
The apartment is very very small, with a mezzanine bedroom (you may hit your head on the low ceiling!), and another very small single room, but with no door separating . So it is ok for people of the same family, but sharing it with friends could be embarrassing - the tiny shower room/toilet leads directly into the kitchen area and has no other ventilation, for example. There is very basic equipment for cooking.
We would have found it useful to have a little more equipment – scissors for example, which you can’t put in hand luggage (we bought some and left them there), some information about Bari and the area and the other bits and pieces which you generally find when you travel with Airbnb.
All in all it was ok for us and cheap, but not a bargain (!) probably you have to pay more in Bari to find somewhere better.
