On Saturdays, Cookstown's main shopping area comes alive with a bustling, vibrant street market which has a Royal Charter dating back to the 17th century.
It has a diversity of interests to accommodate all visitors to the area. Cookstown District has an abundance of tourist attractions varying from Neolithic monuments, National Trust properties, forest parks and a picturesque marina. The main sporting activities in the area are walking, cycling, golfing and angling. Guided tours are available through the Tourist Information Center and are an excellent way to discover Cookstown.
