A rare large cottage in this picturesque village. With a large kitchen/diner leading onto a sunny patio; upstairs lounge with stove and fabulous sea views. Master bed views along the beach. Pub, cafe and beach 1 minute walk away. Garden has sea view.

The space

Free wifi available. Well-equipped, spacious kitchen/diner. The downstairs bedroom is ideal for children with a bunk bed, sofa and large TV making it a perfect extra sitting room. It also has an ensuite shower room. The sitting room has a sofa, 3 chairs and window seat looking over the sea - spacious yet warm and cosy with a log burning stove. Lie in the king sized bed and look over the rooftops and along the beach. Newly refurbished with new bathroom, double-glazing and efficient heating to make it an all-year-round property. Highchair and cot available. The house has patios on 2 elevations and an adjacent garden with dining furniture and views of the sea which is only moments away on foot.

Guest access

Guests have use of the whole house. There is a patio and adjacent garden for your sole use. There is a locked under stairs cupboard and outside store where we store personal items. Very occasional access may be required to the outside store.

Interaction with guests

Information is left for you in the cottage with my contact details should there be an emergency.

Other things to note

Minimum 3 nights stay. Only full weeks bookable in July and August. Please see discounts available for full weeks taken outside peak times (Airbnb restricts me to list pricing of weeks from Monday to Monday but as my weekly bookings run from Friday the dates don't quite match so contact me for confirmation). Set days often prescribed over Bank Holiday weekends, Christmas, New Year etc. There is parking in the visitor's carpark (payable) with some free availability on the roadside at the top of the bank. There are a number of steps from the roadside to the property. Unfortunately the cottage and Runswick Bay are not wheelchair friendly. Linen (bedding, towels etc) and toiletries etc are not included at present, please bring your own and contact me for details of bedding requirements. Thank you.

Thank you Julie for your kind words. I agree, Runswick Bay is one of the best little bays in the world - we are very fortunate and love to share it with others.

Inglenook is an absolute gem of a place, right in the heart of Runswick Bay. Clean, well equipped and with all you need for a hassle-free stay. There were 6 of us in our party and we had more than enough space. Great communication with Maxine and detailed instructions prior to our stay. Kitchen / diner - plenty of space, Bathrooms - spotless & showers work well, Bedrooms good size with comfy beds, Living room - lovely view to the bay (a great garden area at the front too). House was warm - but we also bought our own fuel for the stove - which added that little bit extra to the atmosphere. Be prepared for no phone signal and wi-fi can be sporadic, but that's a small price to pay for what you'll get from Runswick. The beach is fantastic and if you're into fabulous views, walks, fossil hunting and spending a few days in an idyllic location - come here.

We loved our stay - so secluded and private with amazing views. Due to the hard to reach location, it would have been handy to have linens included: it was a slog to carry all our luggage to the house. We would stay here again.

What a lovely place this is. Such a find! We never expected the wee village to be so quaint and in such a lovely setting. The photos certainly dont lie! Apart from the weather being miserable during most of our stay we enjoyed every moment and would definitely love to come back! The house is up quite a few steps, so not for the faint at heart. But the views from the living room and terrace are amazing and definitely worth it. It was easy to find thanks to Maxine's good description and easy to access with the key safe. Maxine had gone above and beyond to make sure we had a great stay and had bought us duvets and linen as we had enquired as to why this was not available. That you Maxine! The house was newly decorated to a high standard with attention to detail - very inviting and cosy. We looked at some of the other cottages online that are available as holiday lets in the village, but would definitely come back to Inglenook anytime! We ate at the local pub twice for lunch and dinner and were very surprised at the huge portions and great quality of produce! Can definitely recommend eating here! Tips: bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper as the many seagulls on the rooftops will wake you around 3am in the morning! ;) All in all we had an excellent stay and can highly recommend this wee cottage! We hope to be back at some point.

Inglenook is a very beautiful and well equipped cottage, with an outstanding terrace to enjoy spectacular views over the village and bay. The layout was perfect for our family as the kids loved the downstairs bedroom with tv and ensuite and we enjoyed the views (and peace) upstairs! The location is perfect, and the outdoor space such a bonus in the village. Runswick is a very special village and this cottage is the ideal place to stay.

Wow! What a find! First time we've used Airbnb and we have hit gold! Secretly don't want to write a great review as would like to keep it all to ourselves! Amazing location- the view from the main bedroom, downstairs bedroom as well as the living room is perfection. So clean and had everything you needed. Ideally would have preferred to have bed linen and towels supplied rather than having to take our own but that's the only downside! The wifi wasn't great at times- but that actually was a good thing as totally switched off from the modern world! Really comfy beds- which is usually hard to find. We will definitely be back!

We had a lovely stay at Inglenook - it's a lovely cottage that's light and airy but cosy with some really nice personal touches with the seaside theme throughout The adjoining garden looking out to sea is a joy- perfect for sitting on an evening with a glass of wine listening to the sea Brought back happy memories of holidays here as children
