Our stay here was great! The home is very welcoming and the hosts were remarkable in making sure my family and I had proper accommodations (from the moment we landed to the time we departed from the island). Everything is as described. We look forward to staying here again!

So, where to start... This was our firs trip to Cuba. There was so much information to digest. I was hopeing by the previous reviews, at least our house would be "OK". It was not OK, it was great ! We were 2 couples and each brought a daughter (16 and 20). 6 total. The house lay out was great. 2 bedrooms down stair stairs. The master has a bath right off the room, the 2nd BR down stairs uses a hall bath, right out side the bedroom door. Each had Queen beds. I am a freek and brought feather pillows, but the bedding was good. The 3rd bedroom upstairs has 3 twin beds. It has its own bath right outside the bedroom door. . Are they all pillow tops mattresses from the JW Marriott, no, but they were clean and washing service was offered after 2 or 3 days. Each bedroom has an AC unit. You’ll be as cold as you want to be at night. Living room and kitchen are not air-conditioned, but it was fine with those 15 foot ceilings from 1920 and an lerge fan in the living room. I was a little unclear about what to expect as far as people there etc. so here is that… In the morning, a lady comes at about 6:30 or so. Gets breakfast and coffee ready. A nice breakfast, eggs, toast, fresh fruit, fresh Mango or Papaya juice. It is included. This person hangs out all day, while you are gone. Watches the house, cleans etc. Around 5 or so, shift change, another gal comes in. She watches the house all night, yes stays there on the “couch”. Adeila is a sweet hart ( I know I butchered her name), she ran the night watch the entire time, felt like family by the end. One lady was only there 1 day, forgot her name, then we had a second “day” person for the rest of our trip, Yanelys another sweetheart. They all are great. Vladamir and his wife are your transportation to and from the airport (about $30) . Awesome couple. We used him for other special trips we took. i.e. visted a hospital/school an hour away, he was great. He likely won’t be your daily guy, could be if you want to hire him. Great old car, super nice guy. Location. You are 4 or 5 blocks from the Cohiba Melia and the Malicon. Easy walk. If you just can’t be without your devise for a few days, The Cohiba Melia will sell you an access card for 4.50hr. Same at a few other major hotels as well. There is a Super market across from the hotel, bottled water and basic supplies can be bought there. You can get cabs for local trips at the hotel … i.e. to and from dinner. Your kind of in a prime area. The hotel offers bus tours and shuttles to other cities. Two restaurants close to the house that were...

This house is beautiful and comfortable. Adela and Yanelis were always there to help us whether it was with finding places to eat, fixing us breakfast, or finding transportation to the different destinations we wished to visit. It was a fantastic experience and I would definitely stay in this house again.

Good experience! The staff here were extremely nice. Just a few blocks from a couple nice restaurants, Atelier and Decameron, and from the Melia Cohiba hotel, where there are taxis, shopping, and internet access. This is a colonial house with original floors, decent furnishings and amenities, not fancy, but great for our purposes. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

The house was beautiful and very relaxing. The location is a bit secluded, we ended up needing to take a taxi to get to most places for eating/going out, etc. The casa is very close to the Malecon and close to a hotel where you can get a taxi at any time. There was a new restaurant called "Pa'Zillo" that had just opened down the block the week prior to us being there and we spent a lot of time here. The food and drinks were amazing and the staff was very friendly. I highly recommend it! The two downfalls of our stay at Josefa's house was in regards to the transportation we had arranged. The first being airport pickup, but when we landed in Cuba there was no one there as originally discussed. Additionally, I had spoke with Josefa beforehand about arranging a taxi to Trinidad at the end of our stay, but when we arrived in Havana the staff at the house told us we would need to pay an extra 200CUC on top of what were originally quoted. Overall - our stay at Josefa's house was a lot of fun and the house itself is beautiful. I would recommend if you are traveling as a family or with a large group and don't mind being based a little outside of the Havana city action.

If you want an authentic Cuban experience, this is a great place. The house was very clean and a good size for our party of 6. We adored the ladies who watched over the home while we were there and made us breakfast every morning. One person in our group spoke Spanish which helped massively in communicating with them. All in all, it was a very nice stay.

Josefa's place was wonderful. The caretakers of the home were extremely kind and helpful. Breakfast was delicious, and the location was great. Make sure you have someone who can speak Spanish fluently in your group!
