If you enjoy experiencing living in a home with items from times past integral to the house but also with the modern amenities like central heating, cooker, fridge, washing machine and microwave to make life easier then you will love Flora's place. No TV and no wifi were actually a blessing and helped make this a peaceful haven to come back to from exploring the Uists and Benbecula. It is warm and homely with comfortable beds and a bathroom downstairs and shower room upstairs where the bedrooms are - so no trek at night for a visit to the toilet! Try your hand at making a warm and comforting peat fire. The views from the windows are fantastic and seeing the sky at night with so many stars and the Milky Way was awe inspiring.

The photos really don't do justice to this lovely cozy house. The moment we walked in the door we felt at home. The house has a big warm kitchen with large dining table where we spent most of our time in the evenings. The kitchen was very well equipped with everything you could need. There is also a separate living room with plenty of comfy chairs and an open fire with a supply of peat to burn. There is a bathroom with shower upstairs and one with a bath downstairs, so no queuing to use the loo! The location is perfect, there is a Co-Op supermarket just a 10 min drive away, and great cafes (with wifi) in Lochmaddy and Benbecula. Flora's is the only place I'd want to stay on a return trip to the Uists.

la maison a beaucoup de cachet ; l'intérieur est meublé de façon très rustique avec défauts et qualités: cheminée avec feu de tourbe, cuisine très conviviale ambiance très cosi. par contre les équipements sont un peu vétustes et parfois insuffisant
