Luxury self contained timber ranch house set in tranquil private gardens within the picturesque Mount Louis Cattle Station. Light and spacious, the house is stylishly appointed and well equipped with all the comforts of home.

The space

Mount Louis Cattle Station is arguably the most fertile and picturesque cattle station in Far North Queensland fattening some of the finest Brahman and Angus steers in the country. Immerse yourself in this naturally beautiful part of the world leaving the stresses of everyday life behind.

Experience life on a working cattle station, meet the station manager and learn about the inner workings of this 3000 acre property or discover some of the most diverse features on the Cape York Peninsula, from towering hinterland peaks to wetlands, from ancient paperbark forests to beautiful virgin rainforest with crystal clear creeks ideal for bird watching, fishing and swimming.

Guest access

The house is self-contained and all parts are accessible to guests. Gardens and all areas of the station are accessible to guests apart from the Homestead area.
Reduced access is available at discounted rates. For 2 guests with access to one bedroom only rate is $250 a night and 4 guests with access to two bedrooms only rate is $290 per night. There is a 10% surcharge during the school holidays.

Interaction with guests

Hosts Ben & Courtenay live nearby and can assist with any requirements guests may have and provide information on the local area.

The house is located on a working cattle station, if guests wish to visit and experience life on the station, then this can be arranged through Ben & Courtenay and is included in the cost of the stay.

Other things to note

Check in time is from 2pm - check out at 10am.
As the property is in a remote area, 3G and mobile phone reception can be sporadic.
The local IGA store in Ayton has a good selection of fresh food, meat, groceries and fishing gear. A larger supermarket can be found in Cooktown. It is suggested that guests do the bulk of their shopping before they arrive.
