As I wrote in the previous sections that the host in my view, did not have the welcoming and happy disposition of hosts at Airbnb or completely honest (Eg, said the Electric porter/ bell was not working - in fact, it was not even there to be fixed, when I asked a neighbour for help). Guido did not come to check us in and we had to wait outside. His air conditioner dripped water onto a balcony of a lady in the 2nd floor. I did a temporary job to stop that happening and the girl was very happy she was heard by us. But this was not the first year this was an issue for her. The owner should have fixed the drip the previous summer to avoid the problem recurring with his neighbour. That did not impress me at all. There were lots of minor issues he should have told us about, rather than us finding out bit by bit: like the oven did not work properly, the leaks in the wash basins and bidet, the cracked wood on the window side (so air conditioning escaped), the electric porter/bell was not installed. But the worst for me was how he dramatised over a dead plant, when it was half dead/ or well on its way out, when we came in. I did water them but was possibly beyond help when we arrived. He asked me to keep them watered but not being a garden person I did what I could. He did not need to make a fuss of such a thing- I offered to pay, but just made us feel awkward. He kept the deposit (which I did not think anyone else ver asked my through Airbnb) as he said it was to cover for gas, electricity and cleaning. I pointed out it was spotless, then he realised I was right but had his speech already and did not alter his plan. None of the above impressed me. I came out disappointed for the reasons stated already and having payed top dollar to someone that was not appreciative of how well we looked after his place and how spotless we left it to welcome him back to his home.
