The space

7 minutes walk from Mount Herzl and the main tram line is our private house surrounded by a beautiful garden.
This is one offer 3 bedrooms we rent with a dinning/ cooking area, 2 bathrooms and a living room with cable TV, lots of books and games and wireless internet.

You have all you need to prepare light meals: Frigidaire, electric cooker, microwave, electric kettle, toaster-oven, plates, cups, cutlery, spices, olive oil and of course coffee and a choice of teas. As this is a cooking area and not a real kitchen, please do not deep fry.
One bathroom has a shower, the other a bathtub. There is no washing-machine on your floor, but I can run your laundry in our machine.
In the garden you'll find relaxing sitting areas, a grill for barbecue, games, hummocks and a small pool - ideal to cool down after a day of touring. (only in the summer)
Our house is easily reachable by the central tram line, which brings you quickly to most of Jerusalem's attractions. If you come by car you can park in front of our house. A grocery is a 5 minute walk away, a local shopping area you reach with 15 minutes walk trough a typical old neighborhood of Jerusalem with old gardens and trees. 5 minute car drive brings you to the picturesque Ein Kerem, nestled in the valley beyond our house with a mixture of famous and beautiful churches, monasteries, synagogues and stone paved paths along old stone houses with beautiful gardens. It is also a venue for classical music concerts and has restaurants known for al fresco dining. A 10 minute bus drive brings you to Hadassa Hospital with the famous Chagall Windows in the Synagoge. Yad V'Shem is a 15 minute walk away.
You can park freely in front of the house.

House Rules

If you rent just one or two of the rooms please be aware that you have to share the common area with potential other guests. We ask our guests not to smoke inside the bedrooms. We would prefer if you do not smoke inside at all but if it is to difficult for you please open the windows to air. Eventually our children might sleep in other rooms on the same floor, but they live out of town. This means most of the time the whole area is for our guests/ We clean once a week, so please in between take care of the place as if your home. If you need the vacuum cleaner tell us.

We spent ten days in Ruth's house. Ruth is a very kind and warm-hearted person. She was giving advise on transport and what places to visit. We will have best memories of our Jerusalem holiday.

A very warm stay in Jerusalem. Ruth and Ari is a very lovely couple who makes my stay perfect in basically everything. And I enjoy celebrating the Pesach with them! Sharing with them are thought provoking and I enjoy the conversations so much. Transport is convenient for my attachment in Hadassah Hospital in Ein Kerem, and I have the space to work and relax. At this room specifically you can see the hospital from the window and the sunset as well! I would be happy for you if you are accepted to be a guest in this lovely house. P.S I miss Mungo!

Ruth and Ariel opened the doors to their house and made me feel like home and as part of the family during my 3 week stay. They are excellent people and during my stay were always very nice and funny and ready to help with anything that I needed, even if just some talk. The house is great, with a lot of space and privacy and the fact that there is a space to prepare light meals was very helpful. It's also very close to the main transportation systems (the tram line and a lot of buses that go to the city center). It's situated in a very beautiful and calm area of Jerusalem.

Ari & Ruth were wonderful hosts, warm and welcoming, and always ready to assist. They provided maps & brochures and lots of useful information. Their house is ideally situated for public transport; there's a bus stop 2 mins walk away, from where you can easily get a bus to the light rail/tram which takes you right into the centre of Jerusalem. Guests stay in the upper floor of the house, and it's very comfortable, light & airy. We were the only guests for most of our stay. No laundry facilities but Ruth was happy to add ours to theirs. We thoroughly enjoyed the 7 days we stayed in their home :) Things to note: Shower is small, with a curtain; Dishes are washed in the bathroom basin, possibly tricky for a large group; No coffee making facilities, take your own French press ;)

I have spent almost two months in Ruth's house. During the entire stay I felt warmly welcomed by Ruth and her husband and I had a very happy time there. The location is very convenient, within 2 minutes walking distance to a bus stop and around 10 minutes walk to the tram station. There are several grocery stores around the place. The surroundings are VERY beautiful with an amazing mountain view from the room window. The room as well as the common kitchen and bathrooms are very tidy and clean and have everything one would need. There is also a common rest area with nice coaches and TV. Ruth and her husband are both VERY nice and friendly, highly reliable and really attentive. I enjoyed my stay with them a lot and I would come there again when in Israel.

We are a couple in the early 60, two of our children are students, one just finished physiotherapy. They live outside Jerusalem, but come often for Fridayevening family meals. My husband still works for the goverment in the field of traffic and statistics. I am a family-therapist and have my clinic in the house.
