We booked the cottage in a rush and weren't entirely sure what to expect when we arrived. We were delighted to find that the cottage was absolutely beautiful. We loved the comfy sofa, log burner and slipper bath . Jacqui had left us bread, croissant, cookies, ham, milk, butter, wine etc. which was lovely. The babbling brook on the doorstep was stunning too. We had a small issue and John was quick to try and resolve the problem. We would definitely like to stay here again.

We had a wonderful couple of days in Elderflower Cottage. Jacqui is a fabulous host who went out of her way to make our stay perfect, without at any time intruding on our holiday. Her welcome on arrival set the tone for our stay and made us feel at home from the outset. The cottage is just beautiful, full of character and charm but still providing everything you could need, plus a few outstanding extras like the baby grand piano. It felt bright and airy with lots of natural light in the day, yet warm and very cosy in the evenings. We loved the spiral staircase up to the spacious main bedroom, which again was charming and very comfortable. The location was perfect for us too with lots of beautiful walks right on our doorstep and some really good pubs within walking distance. The hardest bit was tearing yourself away from the cottage and the peaceful sound of the waterfall outside the window. If you are looking for a romantic retreat to recharge your batteries in an idyllic setting then I thoroughly recommend Elderflower Cottage. Thank you Jacqui, we hope to be back soon.

Jacqui's cottage nestles in a picturesque group of stone cottages by a tumbling mountain stream. The ancient bridge over the stream creates a frame that, if like us you give in to to the temptation to explore behind, opens up apparently endless opportunities for wonderful walks directly from the cottage...easy along the canal shaded by ancient oaks or if you like strenuous, up the mountainside for fantastic views over the valley towards the surrounding hills. Jacqui and John are the most friendly, attentive hosts and we felt really welcome within moments of our arrival. We had a very special week here and recommend it absolutely.
