Picture your family and/or guests gathering on a 270- degree, west facing patio. Wine and dine them after barbecuing on the two grills. Challenge them on the regulation horseshoe and Bocce Ball courts. Hike, swim, bike and golf nearby!

The space

What do you call this new, architecturally designed, two-story log home nestled in the foothills of the Trinity Alps, and set on three and one-half acres of pine, oak and Manzanita? You call it Shasta Log Lodge, your dream vacation home far from worldly cares. or the center of activity with four telephones and cellular reception.
It's your call.

A truly great room is the main floor's dog friendly "Great Room," where you look up to a soaring 30-foot ceiling of enormous handcrafted sierra pine and cedar log beams and perlins. Six massive windows with western exposure face professionally landscaped California native plants and panoramic mountain views. The stylish furnishings are sturdy tables and chairs as well as comfortable sofas outfitted in colorful native textiles from Chile, Argentina, and Peru. Entertain with cable/satellite TV, a DVD and CD player, a VCR, and music and video libraries.

Downstairs, the fully equipped dream kitchen was carefully planned to include maintenance friendly concrete tables, countertops and floors. Appliances are stainless steel. A pantry (!) provides ample storage for meals served in nearby eating and living areas.

Also downstairs is the ultra-private large master suite with queen sized bed, well appointed bath, and extra large closet.
Upstairs, you'll find a carpeted loft with a fold down couch and two other spacious bedrooms, one with a queen sized bed and the other with two twin beds and extra large closets.

Sleeping in any of the bedrooms rivals a fashionable city hotel because of the 600 thread count cotton sheets and down comforters.

Plan on sleeping six in three bedrooms, or eight if you use the fold down, or even more than you thought possible if you include the downstairs couches.

Picture your family and/or guests gathering on a 270- degree, west facing patio of 1,000 square feet protected by an overhanging roof. Wine and dine them after barbecuing on the two grills. Challenge them on the regulation horseshoe and Bocce Ball courts. You'll have room for an RV/boat/trailer as well as parking for approximately 15 vehicles on this three and one-half acre property.

Do as little as possible on vacation or engage in such activities as golfing, biking and hiking. Or, find boating and other water sports, as well as fly fishing, available at Shasta Lake-a mere five minutes away. Travel 20 minutes to the Upper and Lower Sacramento Rivers, or 90 minutes to the Trinity, McCloud and Applegate Rivers. The Klamath, Eel and Fall Rivers are only two hours away (along with many lakes and creeks).

Winter visitors can snowmobile, cross country or downhill ski at Mt. Shasta Ski Park. Wine mavens will enjoy the area's numerous wineries

Some points of interest located in Redding are: the amazing Calatrava 'Sundial' Bridge connecting the Turtle Bay Exploration Park and the McConnell Arboretum; the Sacramento River Trail; the Shasta Dam and Shasta Caverns; and, of course, the spectacular 14,161-foot Mt. Shasta. Railroad buffs can even find a railroad museum located near Dunsmuir.
It's your unforgettable vacation house. just the way you want it. It's your call.

The log home was beautifully designed from inside out.

A fantastic house in a great setting. My kids called it a log castle rather than a log cabin. Enjoyed the scenery, the bocce court and the very dark sky's (great for stargazing). Linda was very responsive.

Lovely cabin, we had a great week end, enjoying the tranquility of being surrounded by nothing but nature. The beds were comfy and the kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. Loved the ceiling high windows in the living room, and the porch area. We can't wait to go back to this place in the summer. Thank you Linda & Christie.

To be caught off guard like this after spending over $2,600 on a 1/2 decent rental, is not only insulting, but grossly unfair and 100% unprofessional on top of being rudely disrespectful. We were NOT called on Sunday (8/21) - there is NO record of a missed call or voicemail from Linda or anyone from her office. In fact I called 3 times and sent a few texts (all verifiable) since Thursday about a different issue, and Kristie finally called me back on Tuesday (23rd) - the day we checked out - asking if I ever saw an email from her manager. I said, "No, did it come through Airbnb?" Of course it was not, but rather sent from someones random email that ended up in my junkmail, obviously. I expressed to her that they should have made sure to reach me given that they knew what a problem this could be and we had NO idea. Airbnb states - "For your safety and protection, only communicate and pay directly through Airbnb." Being that we checked into this (the 2nd disappointing property in a row) on Wednesday the 18th, I find it hard to believe that you didn't know before Sunday that we were unknowingly using high amounts of wifi data. Again, you did not properly communicate with us! Extreme charges ($260) for limited wifi?! Sure, there was 1 tiny line of some fine print that we didn't see in the agreement, but being that free unlimited wifi is the norm everywhere, we feel the management should have made an extra effort to make a point of this. Especially given the strange anomaly of very weak and limited wifi from a hot spot travel modem, that they knew could rack up such an astronomical and ridiculous expense. When I spoke to Kristie about this (which I found out about only as we were leaving), she said "we understand and we'll work it out together so that it's fair.." and went on about how she knows it's very uncommon and that they (Linda and her staff) should have, A) let us know up front so this could have been prevented B) let us know about the overage sooner C) made sure that we received the message or email. ** NONE of this happened! The respectful, mature, responsible action would have been to call me like a grown up and talk this out from an wise and understanding perspective, but instead Linda chose to assume the worse and jump to the wrong conclusion then write a nastygram attached to a ridiculous bill. The tone of Linda's note regarding the extra costs makes it sound as if we're a bunch of irresponsible adults who knew what was going on and didn't care then wrote on scolding us like children taking something they shouldn't. We're not your kids Linda, you can treat people this way but you won't stay in business very long doing so. Namaste!

I am a local native Mt Shastan who enjoys living in a small community and the great outdoors. My husband, kids and I camp and fish all summer and kayak the lakes and rivers often. We RV most weekends taking advantage of the local camp spots where we sit around campfires and sip good wine. I am a huge foodie and can think of nothing better than spending a day in the kitchen - and am always dreaming of a trip to Italy for a cooking tour! I am Owner/Broker of Century 21 Advantage which is the largest real estate company in Siskiyou County and I also own and operate Mt Shasta Vacation Rentals. I have great teams of people who work their days making great vacations come true here in the shadows of the mountain. If you are called to live out your days in this splendor, then I can assist you in finding the perfect home. I would love to meet you and your guests - I can be a huge resource of information for those coming here for the first time or those who are almost replanted here. I wish you kind blessings, Linda
