Exceeded expectations. The manor ..majestic. Deliciously restored to the tiniest details of its period - The early 1900's. The days of great wealth for the little town of Scottdale PA. Such weath that the heiress of Frick the coal baron, left her impressive private golf course and palatial home to the Steel workers! They play there today and enjoy the great food at the Club. Golf courses abound in the area. Frank Lloyd Wright's architectural wonders: Falling Waters, Kuntuc Knob and Duncan Houses are within one hour away. Verdant lush Farms with wonderful old barns and silos - everywhere. A delight for the eye as you drive the hills and mountains. One hour to Pittsburg where we dined at the restored YMCA - fabulous. Just a 'blast from the past' as our lovely hostess explained of Scottdale. Indeed. Nancy & Jim McGeown, Sarasota, FL July 2017

The South Broadway Manor (2nd Floor) is a beautifully restored historic Georgian mansion. Upon our arrival, we were delighted by the beauty of the restoration, and through the week we learned more about the original builder, his family and their role in American history, as well as its use as the family home of the current owners. We really felt at home here, safe and secure, and we enjoyed the ecclectic antique furnishings and decor. The bed was comfy and there was plenty of closet space. The kitchen was accomodating and we enjoyed several meals on the private balcony. Although there were only two of us, the second floor would easily accomodate three or four adults. Pat is a great host and is very easy to contact, and the housekeeper (Jan) keeps everything sparkling clean. Scottdale is nearby (within an hour drive or less) of some fantastic places to visit! Greendance Winery at Sand Hill Berry Farm offers tastings, live music, and some simply amazing deserts every weekend in the summer. The Westmoreland Museum of American Art features the region's best art. For those fond of Frank Lloyd Wright architecture--Fallingwater, Kentuck Knob and the Usoinan homes at Polymath Park are all available for tours. Also at Polymath Park is the Treetops Restaurant--delicious fare served in Wright-inspired ambiance. Pittsburgh has a great deal to offer, check out the Nationality Rooms at UPitt, The Strip District, ride on the Incline train, visit Jean-Marc Chatellier's French bakery for authentic macron. The most incredible view of the city can be seen at Altius Restaurant, atop Mt. Washington. And the Phipps Conservatory is beautiful in any season. We had a fantastic stay and look forward to the day that we can return!

Spacious, well appointed, and like slipping back in time. The house was perfectly clean. We like to cook on our vacations, and the kitchen was well appointed. The house is about a 15 min drive from the GAP trail in Connelsville, and about a half hour drive to Ohiopyle. Pat was extremely helpful and friendly the whole time. Her communication was impeccable. Would definitely recommend!

If this place was closer to my home, I would definitly come back over and over. If you appreciate history and places with caracter, this house is perfect for you. We were greeted with wine and fresh homemade pasta, what else can you ask for? If you're planning to go visit Frank Lloyd's Fallingwater house, it's definilty a great combo. It was a pleasure meeting Pat and Luis, charming people. Thanks again for having us!

A treat for the eyes and spirit of anyone who appreciates art and history. The South Broadway house provides respite from city life and our modern world. The hosts were more than forthcoming with information on activities to do in the area, timely with the check-in/check-out process, and made the stay very enjoyable.

What a unique and wonderful spot! We spent a fabulous Easter weekend here with our two adult children. We've never slept on beds so comfortable and everything was spotless. Also, the kitchen was extremely well stocked in any kind of cooking utensil you could want. Plus, so many thoughtful extra touches to make us feel welcome and comfortable. The verandah was a bonus for eating outside and relaxing in the evening. Our lovely, accommodating cleaning person not only left Easter eggs for us, but stopped by with a plate of Easter cookies. These folks are beyond nice and so pleasant. If you love history, look no further. It is like staying in a museum and is a real step back into another era. Spoil yourself, and stay here. We loved it.
