‘Escape and Explore’
The Milking Parlour - Spacious Barn Conversion on 17th Century Farm (Sleeps four/five).
Croeso! A warm Welsh welcome awaits you at The Nook & Cranny at Berthlwyd Farm. This spacious barn conversion offers rustic, simplistic charm right in the heart of the South Wales valleys, the ultimate location to escape and explore, whether on foot or on a set of wheels!
Steeped in History:
This charming barn conversion is located in Quakers Yard which is steeped in Welsh history. The farm dates back to the 1600’s and was a safe house for the dissenting Quakers at the time to meet in order to avoid prosecution. Many of those early Quakers went on to set up home in Pennsylvania. You’ll undoubtedly feel a sense of calm at the farm and understand why the Quakers chose this special place to settle. The views are spectacular and is home to an array of bird life; Swallows and Wagtails are a common site during the summer months.
This farm is perfect if you enjoy the outdoors. Come and visit the Welsh Valleys and experience what it has to offer. With places like Bike Park Wales, the Brecon Beacons National Park (Bannau Brycheiniog) waterfall country, ‘Pen y Fan’ the highest peak in South Wales and even Wales’ capital city, Cardiff on our doorstep, there is plenty to do. The farm is surrounded by endless countryside. The local country pubs serving good, hearty meals are a short walk away. The local grocery shop and fuel station are but a three minute drive.
Eating, drinking, sleeping- why is it always better outside? We’ve set our accommodation to offer the best of both worlds and experience life’s simple pleasures. There is a large covered bar offering BBQ, picnic tables, and cosy seating around a fire pit. Come rain or shine we have you covered!
