Adirondack Log Lean-Tos adjacent to the Hammond Hill State Forest. Private campsite, 10 minute walk from your car. Listen to the Barred Owl, Coyotes & Spring Peepers. Latrine nearby along with a Pavilion, 2 Fire Pits & Picnic Tables. Access to hot showers & other amenities at the campground, just a 15 min walk away. Bring your own sleeping bags, pillows, towels & lanterns. Cots available. Alcohol & drug free facility. Tent camp or sleep in Lean-tos.
Camp Earth Connection(CEC) is a Natural campground of 60 acres with a limited number of private campsites. The Adirondack Lean-To Shelters are located in the Outpost section of the campground. CEC is an alcohol and drug free facility, providing all guests with a quiet and peaceful atmosphere where you can enjoy the beauty and tranquility of nature.
Each Lean-To can have up to 6 people sleeping in them. There are a limited number of cots available. The Lean To's are located on the edge of the Hammond Hill State Forest . Mosquito screens covers are available for the openings, and tarps are available in winter. Listen to the coyotes, barred owls and spring peepers as they sing you to sleep. There is a clean privy, a pavilion with picnic tables and a fire pit, and an outdoor fire pit. There is no electric, but a 5 gallon water coolers are available for drinking water. The main campground is just a 15 minute walk, with hot showers, toilets and other amenities open until October 31st.
This site is approximately a 10 minute walk from where you would park your car. You can arrange with the owner to have your gear brought in to your site by pickup if you need special assistance.
Guests are just 15 minutes away from the main campground at Camp Earth Connection. The main campground is open until October 31st and offers a Shower House & bathrooms with hot water., A dish-washing station and the Red Eft Cafe , an outdoor cooking pavilion where you can get a complimentary cup of coffee and a bowl of oatmeal on weekend mornings until the end of September . There is also wifi at the main camping area.
Interaction with guests
Your host is in the vicinity every day, and is always reachable by cell phone. Your host will be accessible most times as she will be resides in a nearby cabin. Directions and assistance with locating local attractions, restaurants, parks, etc will also be provided.
Other things to note
Guests should not depend on GPS or Internet for directions to the cabin. It is important to use only the directions provided by your host, as internet directions may lead you down impassable abandoned dirt roads. All taxes are included in the fee.

This is an alcohol and drug free facility. We offer a safe space for all people in a drug and alcohol free environment. You will be treated with respect, and we expect all who visit us will be respectful to themselves, each-other and our environment.
Dogs may be allowed at Camp Earth Connection cabins and campsites with prior approval. Dogs must be friendly with people and other dogs. Dogs must be kept on a leash at all times. Dogs must be with the owner, and not left alone in the cabins or at tent-sites. Owner must provide proof of current Rabies vaccination. Owner must clean-up after their pet and dispose of feces appropriately. Owner must sign a rental agreement and understand that they will be responsible for any damage that is caused by their pet, including but not limited to cleaning up after their pet, urination damage, scratching, chewing, etc.
Cancel up to 5 days before your trip and get a full refund. Cancel within 5 days of your trip and the first night is non-refundable, but 50% of the cost for the remaining nights will be refunded.
Susan has spent her life designing inclusive program for adults and children to connect them with nature. In 2002 she purchase a beautiful parcel of land (aka Camp Earth Connection) adjacent to the Hammond Hill Forest, near Ithaca, NY and created her own children's summer camps to bring children from urban areas and from disenfranchised communities to the country to connect them with nature.
Camp Earth Connection is committed to Diversity, Acceptance and Community. In 2010 she also initiated the first Healing Hearts Women's Retreat on this sacred land. In 2016 Susan opened a small "Natural Campground." The campground is designed to give each guest privacy and the opportunity to experience nature in its wildest setting. A variety of camping options are available.
