The space

The Retro Retreat is a self-contained holiday house in the heart of Forrest. It is close to the Southern MTB Trailhead (100 metres) and a short stroll to the Forrest Brewery, Guesthouse and General Store making it the perfect location for a mountainbikers weekend away. For those not into biking there are plenty of other options. Bushwalks around Lake Elizabeth to see the platypus, the Barwon Dam, nearby waterfalls or simply relax on the deck or in front of the fire with a good book. The house is spacious with a definite retro theme to its interior. Comprising of two bedrooms, dining room, lounge room, kitchen, bathroom and separate toilet. A large balcony extends along the back of the house with comfortable lounge seating and a gas BBQ. The deck overlooks the large backyard and beyond to the hills and dam. Ducks wander up daily and many native birds nest in the trees. A fire pit and seating complete the yard and make for a great night outdoors when the weather permits. There is also a pump track for honing the skills or for the kids entertainment.

Great place to stay in Forrest. Handy to the trails, Brewery and General Store. The house had a lovely feel and the wood-burner kept us warm and cosy.

Perfect weekender for exploring Forrest and surrounds....totally lives up to expectations. Very retro which we loved, the promise of ducks was delivered and to top it off we had very friendly and tame horse that visited us at dusk for an apple or two...Our kids were wrapped. Forrest is delightful and offers great mountain bike riding and hiking. Make sure you go to the Corner Store for the best coffee and milk shakes in Forrest. The Brewery also offers a good menu and the Bespoke Restaurant I hear is amazing if you can get in. (We will try it next time) Lake Elizabeth is definitely worth a visit and Stevenson Falls was not bad either. Birregura is a quaint little town about 20Kms away with a Sunday Market on the 2nd Sunday of the month. The Royal Mail Hotel (Birregura) does the best rack of baby ribs - definitely worth the drive. Thanks Geraldine for your hospitality...we will be back.

What a lovely surprise, it's called the Retro Retreat but I had no idea just how lovely it would be until we walked in. Everything in the house seems to match the funky retro style perfectly. And if you think retro means second hand and old, not here - this place is meticulously clean and everything looks and feels brand new. It's the house I wish I'd grown up in. Perfectly located close to the Brewery where we ate most meals and mountain bike and walking trails are very close indeed. Even the horses over the fence where friendly. Loved this place and will be back for sure. Thanks Geraldine.
