I had a lovely stay at Emily's. The instructions were clear, and the other girls who were staying were great. The accommodation was clean, comfortable and very close to the centre of St Johns, so perfect for exploring! There was plenty of space and it was a perfect base for me!

Emily's house is clean, comfy and well situated. Good coffee and granola for brekkie and a friendly welcome await you in this beautiful home. My first air bnb and she's set the bar high!

Convenient and affordable if you want to be close to downtown. The area is a little on the rougher side. Emily is super nice and helpful

Response from Emily:
Hi Jake, after discussing with you a little more. I understand you are referring to the area between my neighbourhood and George Street. Like all areas in downtown St. John's that few blocks have a mixed income level and demographic. (Which is one of the things I love about the neighbourhood, its authenticity) I've lived here going on two years and walk alone all the time (including at night) through that area. (Carter's Hill) I've never had a problem and always feel safe. If you'd like to avoid the route you took in the future, you can head North and then down the hill using one of the streets peppered with colourful houses that may their way into many visitor's photos, like Garrison Hill.

Emily was a great host. She was very responsive to our emails and provided us with all the information we needed to check in easily. It was kind of her to allow us to leave our bags before check in so we could wander around St. Johns unencumbered. The room had everything we needed and the kitchen was well equipped with cooking equipment and breakfast things including very good coffee. The house is in a good location close to grocery stores and downtown St. Johns. But be aware it's quite a hike up, up the hill after a long day spent walking. We found it was very easy to catch a bus on Water St. that took us to Merrymeeting Road. Then, it was just a short walk down the hill to Emily's house. All in all we are happy to recommend Emily's home to couples or singles visiting St. Johns.

We had a great stay at Emily's place! She was kind, quick with communication, and went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable in her home. We'd definitely stay here again!

It is exactly the way Emily describes it. In the heart of downtown, historic place, neat and clean. The Owners go out of their way to help and welcome you. We really enjoyed our stay.

After graduating architecture school in 2013 I moved to St. John's for work. I quickly fell in love with this place: the people, the food, and readily accessible hikes with breathtaking views. For work I design buildings, furnish houses, and greet guests. In my spare time I run a non-profit devoted to fostering a design culture in this province, share meals with friends, and wander in the woods or on the edge of the ocean. I like to think I'm pretty hip and with it. Usually I know when new businesses open up, what band (or show) is the talk of the town, when that restaurant you used to love has changed owners, or where to pick blueberries (even how to find cloudberries). I love sharing my experiences with my guests and learning about their St. John's. Looking forward to greeting you.
