Morning coffee on porch toward mountain view. Leisure walks through Hot Springs. Glad to support local businesses (restaurants etc). Variety of hiking choices. Relaxing but tons to do. Glad to find a perfect vacation spot.

Response from Melanie:
You discovered a most favorite feature of Chestnut Log Cabin. The spacious, rocking chair front porch with mountain views ties first with the outdoor hot tub as to what folks are looking for in a mountain getaway. So glad you found all our towns trails, restaurants and shopping mixed in with your relaxation. Thanks choosing our special property and return soon!

What a wonderful anniversary trip! Hot Springs is such a magical place. The people are super friendly, and being able to stay so close to the Appalachian Trail was a dream. Melanie was a great host and her house was every bit of what we hoped for on our first visit to NC. Thank you so much for opening your home up to us. This is a trip for the books.

Nice place to stay with friends. Close to trekking in smokies.

This cabin is in great location and would be perfect for someone coming off the AT or looking for a place to crash for a few nights while in town. The bunk bed room would be perfect if you have a couple of kids. We made good use of the fire pit and hot tub and loved them both. This is an old log cabin, and while the interior has charm and some interesting original woodwork - it is not luxurious by any means.

Melanie was such a gracious host! We talked over the phone a few days prior to our stay at the cabin. She was also helpful during our stay by recommending places and always being a call away. Hot springs is wonderful! Unfortunately, my friend and I went to Max Patch but it was too foggy to enjoy the scenery so make sure you check the weather well ahead of time! The cabin was very clean and felt just like home!

We loved the quiet neighborhood. Chestnut log cabin is still close to the attractions of Hot Springs and Asheville but peaceful enough for a get away.

Great for a weekend getaway! Cabin was rustic and casual, with plenty of room for our party of four adults and three kids. Hot tub was a huge bonus! Short walk from town and nice to be right on the AT.

Hot Springs, NC was a magical second home for our family until 12 years ago we accepted the mountains invitation to make Hot Springs our permanent home. How wonderful to wake up every morning to the greetings of the Pisgah National Forest, clouds rolling over the mountain tops and the occasional glimpse of the bald eagle flying above the mighty French Broad River. Our family travels draw us to places and people just like Hot Springs and include the coast of Maine, paddling off the coast of Florida and hiking trips in Central America. Our teenager, however, is a 903 year old time-lord and can travel anywhere, anytime and chooses to return to Hot Springs. We love to share our property with travelers who appreciate the relaxed pace of living and the friendly folks that live around Hot Springs. The most heard comment from guests is 'I just don't want to leave!'... That says it all!
