Interaction with guests

Please don't hesitate to ask us for recommendations on travel or eateries, we love to help. Your hosts, Robert and Yvonne (us) want your stay to be how you want it, if you like to discuss possible day adventures we're here for that, want to share stories about the things you've experienced, while sitting around the fire pit, love to hear them...if you just want to chill and be left alone that too is easily attained.

The neighbourhood

With a wonderful New Season's Market just down the street, getting groceries or last minute trip munches is very convenient. We are very close (200 yrds) away from Pendarvis Farm, a oft used wedding venue and home to the Pickathon Music Festival. Also, just 2 miles away is the Happy Valley Station, a collective of over 20 food carts, a Portland icon.

Other things to note

Sleeping arrangements - Please note that the couch does not open to a bed. We provide a queen sized futon in the common room for your comfort.

As of March - Frog Activity is High - Frogs in the area might initiate strong vocalizations. For some this might be a disturbance. Please feel free to contact us prior to booking should you have a concern.

Parking - we can accommodate up to 2 cars with off street parking.

Kitchen Area - has a refrigerator; microwave; toaster oven; one burner induction cooktop; crock pot and an old school pop up toaster for those late night, early morning pop tarts.

Robert and Yvonne's place was so beautiful! The apartment was great, roomy, and decorated beautifully. Robert and Yvonne were so welcoming to my friend and I. We had a wonderful time! The apartment is also located about 25-30 mins from downtown Portland which we appreciated because it was quiet and not busy. :)

We spent 3 days in & out helping our daughter in Portland with some home improvement projects. The location was perfect for us to head out in the morning to help with repair, return to shower, head back out for our evening meal, and then return to sleep. We did find that my phone didn’t have reception in the living area but my husband’s did. The entire space is very roomy and comfortable. The bed was comfy and the bedding was warm and snuggly. I did fret, at first, about the light colored carpeting but Roberts didn’t seem worried. As it turns out, the lawns here seem to sponge up the rain and although they are very wet they don’t become mud pits, like they do at home. The mudroom is the perfect place to keep a pair of slippers. My husband had his first experience with a French Press and decided he might need to get one. Of course it was the pool table he really envied. It is pristine, set perfectly in the space, level and a pleasure to play on. Robert and Yvonne were friendly and helpful. Our experience was everything we could have hoped for.

Very comfy and cozy place to stay near Portland. Didn't have too much interaction with the host (we were only there to sleep) but was still a very pleasant check in and out. All around great place to stay!

Great converted basement apartment! Quite spacious. In the backyard there must have been a stream or something nearby because we fell asleep to the croaking of frogs (which we really liked but they were rather talkative!) Robert (I didn't get a chance to meet Yvonne) was very easy to communicate with and kind. We soo appreciated the friendliness towards our dogs as well.

We are a delightful couple always looking to expand our horizons. We moved to Portland 10 years ago and continue to be amazed by the many offerings this great location has to offer. We look forward to helping you make your experience here in the Pacific Northwest enjoyable.
