The space

Sunny two window 18'x18' room with 9' ceilings and exquisite hardwood floors on Graham Avenue at Manhattan in Williamsburg.

Very good location, walking distance to all that Williamsburg can offer and 15 min to the center of Manhattan by subway or Citibike (there is a station on the same bloc). And a very big and clean room!

The room has private entrance to the hallway (have your own key and don't have to see anyone if you don't like to). The room is furnished as seen in the photographs.

The roommates are all very nice. Yubi –that's me– (Alice is my girlfriend) I work at the United Nations and as an artist ((URL HIDDEN) the other room mate Tara is a lawyer and bartender.

Creative people are always welcome with us, but not a requirement :)

Some details:

Accessibility - It is super easy to get to. Our building is a 5 minute walk to the Lorimer L, a 3 minute walk to the Graham L and a 7 min walk to the JMZ. This means you are a total of ten-ish minutes from Manhattan. There are also two Citibike stations few steps away where you can rent a bike for the day or the week. The ride to Manhattan (Lower East Side) thought the Williamsburg bridge is literally 10 min. Can't be better connected.

Around here - Walking distance from an endless string of restaurants, bars, music venues and the shopping you'll find in central Williamsburg, as well as McCarren park and pool!

Bars and Restaurants close by - Gwynnett Street, Il Passatore, Harefield Road, Mesa Coyoacan, B'asik, Beer Street Shop, Sage, Le Barricou, ... in a 5 min walking distance you have pretty much everything, from the coolest bars to the nicest restaurants.

Neighborhood safety - The neighborhood is very safe. It's a diverse neighborhood, but crime around here is low and I have never felt threatened in the three years I've lived here.

What is the house like? - We keep a very clean, tidy, warm home. I cook, so the kitchen is well equipped. There's also a bathtub. It's not huge, but it's a bathtub!

Bed - Your room is kitted out with a full size bed, with an almost new spring mattress.

*There is a movie projector that you have access to in your room to watch anything on the wall*

Internet - The apartment has 300 mb wireless internet.

Amenities close by - There is a Laundromat on the block open all day, as well as a convenience shop (deli), open 24/7 just downstairs. A post office 2 doors away, pharmacy next door, and four coffee shops within four minutes walk. There is a very affordable supermarket next block and an organic supermarket also on the next block. There is also a gym next block. We have it all 1 block away

We look forward to hearing from you! :)

Guest access

You will have access to the common areas, that are the kitchen and the bathroom of course. You can use anything in the kitchen. There is some space in the fridge for you too, and if there are any and you feel like, please have a beer or cider!

Interaction with guests

It really depends on how much we interact, as different guests have different needs. Happy to get to know you and share stories.

The neighbourhood

If you are reading this is you may might already know about Williamsburg and Brooklyn. Honestly, I just go to Manhattan for work. The neighborhood is so nice that everybody around the world wants to check it out. There are great restaurants and bars everywhere, and there is not a week that passes that we don't discover a new one.

Getting around

L train is the most popular NY line these days. Why? you can get from Brooklyn to the center of Manhattan in approximately 15 min. From door to Union Square, where you can take the 4, 5, 6, N, Q and R trains is 15 watch minutes.
Severak Citibike stations are installed a few steps from the apartment. With them you can get to Manhattan in 10 min. or drive around the neighborhood. They are extremely cheap and convenient, and the best way to experience the city.
If you come by car, notice that this is a commercial street and there is always parking in front of the house, although there is a meeter.
