About this listing
Large comfortable room in townhouse close to city with plenty of room for your suitcases and clothes.
The train and bus to the city or out western are both only a pleasant 2 mins walk from the house but not that close that you hear them!
Local restaurants (Chinese, Thai, Japanese, European, Malaysian) and local dairies (mini-mart) are 3 mins walk and local shopping mall 15 mins walk. This is a very safe and friendly neighbourhood.
Mt Albert is a quiet safe residential area. My house is newly renovated and welcoming. The rooms are clean, large, light and sunny and have good storage. There is a private sunny rear garden which you are welcome to use any time. Beach is two kilometres on foot and takes you past Unitec with its gorgeous gardens. A great local walk is up Mt Albert - our local extinct volcano with great views over Auckland and grassy areas to have lunch in the sun.
Unfortunately I cannot take pets or young children.
Private rear garden, lounge, kitchen (for making tea/coffee, hot chocolate and using the microwave), dining room, lounge.
Interaction with guests
I look forward to meeting you! I am available most times and will be happy to help you with your plans and give you tips about NZ or simply share a cup of coffee/tea with you and have a chat. We have fun here!
Lots of amenities, walks, parks, close to restaurants, 2 km from beach and local shopping mall, Zoo, Museum of Transport & Technology, golf course, close to supermarket, local dairy, great cafes, safe and friendly neighbourhood. Plus our local dormant volcano - 7 minutes walk for great views over the city.
Train and bus to city is 2 mins walk and safe at night. Parking available in the street and possibly on site (depending on current situation). It is a quick 20 minute commute right to the central city.
Other things to note
I have a lovely gentlemanly cat called Max who takes a while to get to know people but is very friendly. The bathroom is a shared one for all guests. You are welcome to make yourself tea, coffee, hot chocolate any time.
I usually have 2 guests in residence so there is always someone to talk with.
This is a quiet house and I find that a few simple rules means that everyone is happy (ie keep noise down after 10pm, don't use all the hot water in the shower and tidy up after yourself). After doing homestay for some years I've found these simple rules work for everyone.
Please be considerate of any others in the house and treat my house and other guests with respect. No pets please. Only guests who have registered may stay on the property.
