A charming and comfortable 18th century house situated on the square of a little mediaeval village tucked away on a hillside, with glorious vistas of vineyards and natural beauty all around. Easy access to wineries, beaches, lakes, walking trails, markets. Buy wonderful fresh food from the market and prepare it in the well-equipped kitchen. Sun yourself on the terrace, enjoy your wine as the sun goes down. And get the best croissants and sausages from the shop next door. Say hello to Jean!

The space
This is a very comfortable old house, right on the square of the village. The village shop is next door, so you have the locals going past all the time and its fun to immerse yourself in the French village life. There are plenty of places to go in the house. There's a kitchen/living room downstairs, another sitting room with TV (UK and France) on the next floor up. There are 4 bedrooms, 2 with single beds. The terrace on the 1st floor is a great place for meals and sunbaking. Then on the top floor there's another room very quiet and ideal for writing that book!

Where you’ll be

Peret, Languedoc-Roussillon Midi-Pyrénées, France

The area is great for visiting wineries, for swimming - in the Herault River, the Lac du Salagou, The Etang de Thau (Meze and La Tamarissiere) and the Mediterranean (Cap d'Agde, Valros Plage etc) and for visiting mediaeval villages. There are some very nice restaurants nearby and Pezenas is a great town to wander about in. Montpellier is around 45 minutes away for beautiful French shopping.
