The space

The Casita Azul is a quaint flat at the back of a property with 3 separate houses. There is a back entrance to the property where you can park off street and the back gate drops you right at the front door of the Casita Azul.

Guest access

The yard is allows for privacy throughout the property. There is a small patio with a table that you can enjoy during your stay. The tenants will be allowed to pass through to the back alley where their vehicles are parked. There is a common garden area that can be explored but we ask that you remain in this back area of the yard as the permanent tenants have patio spaces for their outdoor enjoyment as well.

Interaction with guests

We do not live on the property but do live close by so if there are any issues please call or text us at Lydia ((PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) or Paolo ((PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) and we will respond as soon as we can. Please do not disturb the tenants who live there.

Other things to note

Golden Hill is close to downtown San Diego and the airport. It is important to point out that the airplanes coming in land over Golden Hill, South Park, Balboa Park, Banker's Hill, and Little Italy. Some planes land lower than others and on clear and still days you can hear the air swirl and make the most interesting of sounds as the jet vortex collapses long after the plane has gone.

I absolutely loved this little place. It was reasonably priced and the location was perfect. Just far enough outside the city for it to be nice and quiet and just close enough to everything downtown for us to be a $5 -$15 uber ride from everything. I stayed there comfortably with three girlfriends. It was a little cozy but we love each other so we had no issues! Everything was clean and ready to go, and they even let us check out a little later when our flights were delayed. Absolutely deserving of our five star rating!

The place was very cute and a cheap uber ride to everything we wanted to see. Really great restaurant near by, Buona Forchetta I suggest checking out. Would stay there again.

The neighborhood is really adorable. There's a grocery store, liquor store, bar and a few cute places to eat within walking distance. We felt completely safe walking around. Everything was within a maximum 20 min drive and we had a private parking spot. The entrance and backyard is shared; the neighbors door was about 15 feet away. We ran into him once or twice and he was really friendly, but it was a private area. We didn't ever meet Lydia or Paolo, but the communication was always quick. Check in and out was easy. We were looking for a private and uninterrupted experience and they were good about that. We cooked a lot in the kitchen and they had all the utensils needed. The (URL HIDDEN) words. It's like a cloud!! The tv and the tub were great for down time. My favorite thing was the neighborhood and walking around. There's a cute shop called Haven that we went to and got some really unique handmade gifts! This place is absolutely beautiful!! It's a great place to stay in San Diego. Thank you Lydia and Paolo for making this a great trip for us! Stevie and Dalton

We had a very nice stay. The location is great, the price is right, and very accommodating hosts. It's close to some good restaurants too. We ended up getting breakfast and snacks a few times from Grants market, which is located right in the neighborhood. The house is decorated very cute and was clean and tiny when we arrived. The only complaint I have is the musty/mildew smell that lingered during our whole stay. We opened the windows all day which seemed to help, but as soon as they were closed for the night the smell returned. We have a two year old so it kinda worried me. I will add that my husband and I are highly sensitive to smells, so maybe it wouldn't bother someone else. Other than that everything else was perfect.

Great place to stay, in the middle of every where, you have downtown close by, the San Diego zoo as well, plenty of bars walking distance, and can walk to Starbucks, plenty of little food spots around. Lydia and Paolo are very kind, on time with communication, and try to seek your comfort! Overall a great place to stay!

This place was great! The neighborhood is nice and quiet, and there is a Starbucks and a taco shop an easy short walk away. There also seems to be a farmer's market near the Starbucks on Saturdays, which I was sorry to miss. The bed was so soft and comfortable, and with the windows open there was no need for any air conditioning. The kitchen is cute and equipped with anything you could need, and the shower works great. The place is cozy, but with plenty of space to hang out - much better than a studio or a hotel room! I also loved that there are soft, clean bathrobes in the closest in case there is some leisure in your schedule! I knew we'd be near the airport's landing path and expected some plane-related noise, but was pleasantly surprised at how little there was! I think I noticed maybe four planes in total over the course of the weekend. In all I would highly recommend this place and would stay again for another trip.

We love to be outdoors enjoying nature. We are inspired by the ocean and mountains the forests and deserts. We are lucky to have two wonderful little kids that get to experience the wonders of this town: San Diego.
