Other things to note
Greyabbey is a pretty, historic village situated right in the heart of a rural landscape on the edge of Strangfod Lough. There is a thriving community of antiques dealerships and cafe culture, with several lovely bistros serving a wide variety of tasty food. Greyabbey has had more than its fair share of A list celebrities reported to have visited, with Orlando Bloom, Brad Pitt, Robert Pattinson and Charlie Hunnam, to name but a few. You will have an unspoilt view of the cottage location used in the filming of the movie The Lost City of Z and the BBC2 series, Death and Nightengales as you enjoy breakfast in our sun lounge!
Greyabbey is also a popular spot with brides to be. It's the location for Seraphim Couture, the new bridal boutique and two major wedding venues - Orange Tree House and Mount Stewart Estate - both on our doorstep. If you're going to a wedding ceremony nearby, why not stay over with us for a few nights either side of the big day, relax, let us pamper you and snap some memorial photos in your wedding outfits with the Lough as the backdrop.

Strangford Lough has been designated both an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and an Area of Special Scientific Interest. From our garden we can view an array of bird life at close quarters, including the famous Brent geese as well as heron, curlews and oyster catchers - to name but a few - as they feed on the mud flats. A bird watcher's paradise.

John and Irene are passionate about their home and entertaining friends and family. After taking early retirement we now have taken the fantastic opportunity to open up our beautiful home on Strangford Lough to travellers from across the world. As well as visiting the very many tourist attractions, such as Game of Thrones locations, nearby, we both enjoy world travel, reading, cooking, gardening and caring for our amazing little Shih Tzu, Benji. We hope our guests have a memorable stay and look forward to preparing special breakfasts for them as they relax in our fantastic sun lounge, overlooking Strangford Lough. The panoramic views from the house are truly spectacular, given it's location close to the lough shore. The views capture the beauty of Strangford Lough with its ever-changing tides, the Mourne mountains, yachts at Whiterock, surrounding farmland and an array of coastal wild life. Mount Stewart Estate, a National Trust property is on our doorstep and other tourist attractions such as the Titanic Experience, the Giant's Causeway, Castle Ward, the Folk and Transport Museum, and Castle Espie Wetland Centre are all within easy reach.
