What a great spot! Could not have been happier than with my stay here. Beautiful view overlooking the rice paddies and a ten minute walk into the city centre. Any time I needed anything Gusti and his staff were super helpful and very quick to respond. This place has tons of character and I will definitely stay again. Highly recommend!

Gusti's place is situated about a 15 minute walk north of downtown in the middle of a very beautiful area of rice fields. The gardens include a koi pond and pagoda along with a nice pool with a lounging area. The unit had a kitchen and an open air shower in the bathroom, a couch and a few chairs in the living room, and was a great representation of the local design. Gusti was a fantastic host who was very responsive and did everything he could to help us have a great time during our stay. The villas are in an area with many great organic restaurants and a few spas and artisan stores, too, which give you a bunch of choices when you're not feeling like walking all the way to the downtown area. We were there for a full month so during our stay, we encountered a few things that most people who would only stay for a few days or a week would not have to deal with. We didn't want to eat out every meal and chose this place because it had a kitchen. Unfortunately the kitchen was very sparsely furnished with only a handful of mismatched dishes, cutlery, and pots/pans. We had to buy a few things for ourselves in order to make a decent meal (like a knife and cutting board) and the cabinets had mold in them but the stove top and fridge work well. The 15 minute walk is beautiful but the road itself is in very poor condition so keep in mind that it's almost a mile each way to walk down to the main downtown area. While wifi is provided, it is inconsistent in speed and only tops out at about 4Mbps in the middle of the night. I spoke with Gusti extensively on this and he has committed to getting this fixed up. The bed was a bit stiff for our taste and would not have been an issue if we only stayed for a few days but after a month it gets pretty uncomfortable. Again, if you only stay here for a few days or even a week or two you may not find any of these points as issues at all. The long walk on a bad road only really began to bother us after a week and the same with the bed. The kitchen issues would only matter if you plan to use the kitchen for real meals and the wifi only if you plan to do work while there (as we did) which is why we gave 4 stars. Gusti was a great host and did everything he could to help us out and make our stay comfortable.

We stayed at Gusti Gardens 2 for 10 days and it was absolutely magical! Gusti and his family and workers were so kind and helpful. The pool and the garden were so beautiful. And we spent hours by the koi pond just watching all of them play and come to the surface to say hi. The only problem was being completely hypnotized by the sunrises and sunsets! The place is nestled in a rice field with the most incredible views that are beyond explaining. The explosion of colors is beyond breathtaking. It's about a 10 minute stroll into the heart of ubud down the rice field path, but if you don't want to go that far or into the city, there are delicious quiet little restaurants and cafes sprinkled along the walk where you can sit at the edge of the fields and enjoy great food. Highly highly recommended

We were fly in in late on Monday but our reservation was not until Tuesday morning. We planned on waiting out the night in the airport but the owner invited us to come a night early with a taxi ready holdnour last name at the airport :) He was very quick to respond and the staff was quick to clean and provide water whenever we requested. Loved our place!!! Best one in my opinion out of the four. Top level ;) we stayed two weeks here and it easily felt like home ♡

My driver didn't show to the airport to collect me and my son as he had broken down. The taxi driver i got at the airport took me to another hotel and they wanted me to stay there till morning to take us to the right place as the owner owned a few hotels. You have to ask for fresh towels and the room to be cleaned. Other then that the place is nice and peaceful.
