Woodstock, Virginia, United States

Walk down to the Shenandoah River and see the ducks. Hike the mountains and see the sky. Look out for wildlife! Don't miss a walk across the swinging pedestrian bridge - or a trip to highly rated Muse Vineyards that's just across the lane.

We are a family of 6 that lives in NoVa but we escape to our little farmhouse on the river whenever we are able. And when we can't, you can! It's the middle of nowhere when you need that but when you feel social, there is a winery across the lane, a state park with marked hiking trails you can walk to and a cute town you can easily bike to. We are outdoorsy so if you come in the summer, expect to find a whiffle ball field mowed into the back yard and hiking shoes on the shoe rack. We love music and travel so don't be surprised to find furniture from around the world and musical instruments on the walls. We have little ones so there is a cradle, a changing table, and lots of cool toys. If you don't see it but it would be your definition of a great time in the country, ask. We probably have it and can make it available for a small upcharge. Mountain or touring bikes? Fishing tackle? Horseshoes? Tubes? Yep. If you have never stayed in an old house, it is a treat. The foundation was laid during the French and Indian war. Floorboards in some rooms bend and creak and we are on a river bottom so the wind can really blow. (But we are certified 100% ghost free.) We look forward to hosting you and making your weekend, week, or extended stay one to remember.
